Reboot Podcast #7 - The Relationship between Depression and Entrepreneurship?...rebootio
After years of rapid growth and expansion, followed by a serious year of depression, Rand Fishkin, founder and former CEO of Moz, found himself in a room surrounded by VC backed CEO’s and entrepreneurs where the question was posed: “How many of you struggle seriously with depression or severe anxiety or emotional issues?” He watched almost every person raise their hand. It’s shocking how universal depression is in startups. For anyone struggling with depression, it’s helpful to know you’re not alone. In this podcast, which is slightly different than past episodes, Jerry converses with Rand about his experience - his “loop,” how shame and guilt are at times his driver, the importance of understanding one’s emotional state, and how he’s made progress in coming out of his own depression, including his one piece of advice for entrepreneurs or anyone dealing with their own depression.

2. I highly recommend Ryan René Rosado as a candidate for the position she is seeking.
Ryan was a volunteer at our organization in the summer of 2010, and she made a very
positive impression. I have watched Ryan perform tasks with enthusiasm, seen her
showcase her skills triumphantly, and ultimately represent the organization
appropriately.
Ryan is self-motivated and always tackles a job with an upbeat, efficient attitude.
Whether I asked Ryan to research outline, summarize the news, or cold call
organizations, she showed interest and professionalism. She is also such an outgoing
person that I had no reservations sending her out to public places to interview ordinary
citizens in front of a video camera.
Ryan is also particularly intelligent. She notices typos or contradictions on our site, and
her writing is clear and consistent. She presented a very professional PowerPoint to me
based on marketing research that she investigated by herself.
Lastly, this candidate understands the concept of representing an organization. Her
office manner is professional yet fun. I asked her to accompany me to a meeting with a
perspective partner, and without prompting she was able to talk about her experiences
in a way that was completely in line with DoSomething.org.
Ryan was a joy to supervise, and I highly recommend considering her in your
application process. Feel free to contact me with any questions at (212)254-2390 or at

Sincerely,
