The Sentinel Project is a registered Canadian non-profit organization founded in 2008 by two University of Waterloo students. It has 30 volunteers based in Canada, the U.S. and Brazil who track communities vulnerable to genocide and trends indicating planned systematic killings. They also reach out to vulnerable communities to help address threats and are building a risk visualization dashboard to help communicate the threat of genocide.
