 Margaret Ann Dimond is an assistant professor at
Michigan State University, where she teaches graduate
level courses in leadership and management. Outside
of her professional activities, Margaret Ann Dimond
regularly contributes to the Michigan Humane Society.
One of the oldest nonprofit animal welfare
organizations in the United States, the Michigan
Humane Society provides care for tens of thousands of
animals every year. The Michigan Humane Society
also sponsors a health and behavior resource center,
offering a number of resources for pet owners with
questions about their pets’ behavior.
 The Michigan Humane Society helps owners
identify common canine behavioral problems and
teach their pets positive behaviors instead. As long
as changes in behavior are not related to medical
issues, owners can have a significant impact on
their dog’s behavior. The Michigan Humane
Society helps owners crate train and house train
dogs, stop their dogs from digging in the yard, and
teach their dogs basic commands.
