This study examines the complex relationship between smartphone use and workplace productivity, revealing that while they can enhance efficiency through better communication and task management, they also pose significant distractions that may hinder focus. It synthesizes existing literature on factors influencing smartphone impact, employee perceptions, and organizational policies, thereby providing insights for optimizing smartphone use in various work environments. Recommendations for organizations include establishing clear usage guidelines, improving technological interventions, and fostering a balanced approach to smartphone usage to maximize productivity benefits while minimizing distractions.
