This document discusses research into Italian startups and their relationship to territorial contexts. The research questions examine the types of capital mobilized by startups, the role of collaboration networks, the importance of territorial context, and the impact of regulation. The methodology involved surveying over 300 Italian startup founders and employees. The results found that startups rely mainly on human capital rather than social or financial capital. Networks are weak, impacting access to resources. Location is the most important factor and enables different forms of capital. Current regulation has low effectiveness and reinforces existing distributions of capital. The research is exploratory but provides hypotheses to test regarding factors influencing Italian startups.
