• The process of destruction or removal of
pathogenic microorganisms is termed as
disinfection.
• The object on which disinfection is carried out
is said to be disinfected.

6. LEGAL PROVISIONS
a. BLACK FLUIDS – These are homogeneous dark brown solution of
coal tar acids or similar acids derived from petroleum with or
without hydrocarbon , end /or other phenolic compounds , and
their derivatives and a suitable emulsifier .
b. WHITE FLUID – These are finely dispersed homogeneous white to
off white emulsions of coal tar acids or similar acids derived from
petroleum with or without hydrocarbon , end /or other phenolic
compounds , and their derivatives .
GRADATION
These disinfectants are graded on the basis of the minimum
requirement in respect of Radial Walker (RW) coefficient as -
