Origin of Discus : is South American
                       Discus
                         cichlid fish and this fish
                         belongs to the Amazon
                         River                    of
                         Brazil, Colombia, and
                         Peru.     It    is   found
                         primarily in still or slow-
                         moving        bodies     of
                         water,       lowland     of
                         Amazonia where water
                         turns      blackish      or
                         brownish due to leaf litter
                         and wood debris.

Aquarium we choose :
     Due to body shape discus moves more
     vertically than horizontally. Also discus is
     mid-level moving fish. Our goal is to
     provide them a high depth aquarium for
     them.
     In general 48-18-18 is an ideal size for
     discus tank.

Stocking level & Compatibility :
      General rules says 10 gallon per adult discus &
      7 gallon per juvenile discus with good
      filtration.

      Discus is compatible with very few fishes like
      corydoras sp. , tetra sp. (Neon , cardinal
      , Rummy nose etc.) . It’s always advisable to
      introduce    other    small    fishes  before
      introducing discus into your tank.

Diet of Discus :
       Discus needs a better and various protein diet
       than other fishes. There are some good foods
       i.e.   hikari discus bio gold, NLS discus
       food, sera discus granules, tetra bits, tetra
       crisps. Also you can feed them frozen dried
       bloodworms (occasionally). You can also feed
       them ant’s egg! This is one of the best live food
       for discus, as this contains no external or
       internal parasites.

       Goat heart / Beef heart (fat removed) – 200 gm.
       Fresh Prawns – 200 gm.
       Spinach (boiled) – 100 gm.
       Green Peas (boiled) - 50 gm.
       Garlic - 2 clove
       Multivitamins - ½ capsule
       Calcium - ½ capsule
       Spirulina – 1 tsp.
       Gelatin
