This document is not a work of Headway Solar (http://headwaysolar.com/) and it has been released here for the benefit of the general public.
This document outlines standards for the design of transmission line towers. It discusses materials used in tower construction, classifications of loads on towers from wind, broken wires and maintenance activities. It also covers topics like wind load calculations, permissible stresses, slenderness ratios, minimum member thicknesses, bolt specifications, and additional design considerations. The scope is to stipulate design standards for self-supporting steel lattice towers used in Saudi Arabia's transmission system.
This document provides standards for selecting and evaluating conductors and overhead ground wires for Saudi Electricity Company transmission lines. It discusses conductor and ground wire types and loadings, including temperature and wind conditions. It also covers design spans like basic, wind, and weight spans. Further sections address conductor selection factors like ampacity and corona, as well as sag and tension calculations. The document aims to define important considerations for transmission line design within the SEC system.
This document provides standards and procedures for preparing plan and profile drawings and sag templates used to locate structures for transmission line design. It discusses drawing preparation including scales, labeling, and required features. It also covers sag template design, including different sag curves for various temperature and loading conditions. Calculations and construction of sag templates are explained. The document aims to ensure structures are designed properly within capacity and provide adequate ground, structure, and object clearance for transmission lines.
Residual Current Devices (RCDs), also known as ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs), are mechanical switching devices that open electric circuits when they detect that current to ground exceeds a predetermined value due to a ground fault. The document discusses different types of RCDs including RCCB, RCBO, RCD, and their applications based on standards like IEC 61008 and 61009. Key parameters for selecting RCDs include nominal current, tripping current, conditional breaking capacity, and device type. Proper RCD selection and circuit design are important for safety and discrimination.
This document outlines standards and procedures for transmission line route surveys. It discusses responsibilities, survey methods, drawings, and other documentation required. Some key points:
- The contractor is responsible for selecting the transmission line route based on criteria like minimum length, cost, and environmental impact. They must perform preliminary and detailed surveys.
- Surveying methods include establishing angle points, profiling the terrain, and noting obstacles. Data is recorded on plan and profile drawings.
- Drawings include general layouts, detailed plans and profiles, and crossings. Profile stationing starts from the power source.
- The contractor must ensure accurate structure placement within specified tolerances based on the survey data.
The key factors that determine tower configuration are:
1. The required insulator assembly length, conductor clearances, and ground wire placement.
2. The tower height is determined by the minimum ground clearance, maximum conductor sag, vertical conductor spacing, and clearance between the ground wire and top conductor.
3. Other factors influencing tower configuration include wind loads, temperature variations, conductor size and material, and span length. Proper configuration ensures safety clearances and allows the transmission line to reliably carry power loads with the required safety factors.

Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

2. 12.1. Hat Güzergahlarının Belirlenmesi
Yüksek gerilim elektrik enerjisinin üretildiği yerden tüketim merkezlerine ile-
tilmesi için hava hatları kullanılır. İletim ve dağıtım hatlarında kullanılan ve iletken-
leri birbirlerinden belirli uzaklıkta havada tutmaya yarayan ve hat boyunca uygun
aralık ve yükseklikte yerleştirilen şebeke donanımına direk denir.
Şekil 12.1 Dağıtım durumuna göre direklerin yerleri
Yukarıdaki şekilde;
• 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14, 15, 16 ve 17 no’lu direkler taşıyıcı direk
• 3 ve 5 no’lu direkler branşman direk
• 12 no’lu direk köşede taşıyıcı direk
• 4, 7 ve 13 no’lu direkler nihayet direkleri
• 10 no’lu direk tevzi direğidir.
12.2. Kullanılış Çeşitlerine Göre Direk
Çeşitleri
• Durdurucu direkler
• Köşede durdurucu direkler
• Taşıyıcı direkler
• Köşede taşıyıcı direkler
3. • Nihayet direkleri
• Branşman direkleri
• Tevzi direkleri
12.2.1. Durdurucu direkler
ENH’de düz hattı durdurmak amacıyla kullanılan direklere denir.Taşıyıcı direk-
lere bağlanan iletkenlerin gergin durmasını sağlar. İletkenlere gelen gerilme kuv-
veti durdurucu direklerle temin edilir.
Demir direkler iletkenlerin her türlü tertip şekline uygula-
nabilir.
imal edilen direklere betonarme direk denir.
12.3.2.1. Gerilmesiz betonarme direkler
• Santrifüj betonarme direkler
• Vibre betonarme direkler
12.3.2.2. Ön gerilmeli betonarme direkler
• Ön gerilmeli santrifüj betonarme direkler
• Ön gerilmeli vibre betonarme direkler
6. Şekil 12.3 Beton direk çeşitleri
12.3.3. Ağaç direkler
Alçak ve orta gerilimli iletim ve dağıtım hava hatlarında kullanılır. Mekanik
dayanımları azdır. Köknar, ardıç, karaçam gibi ağaçlardan yapılır. Hava şartlarından
olumsuz etkilendikleri için özel işlemlere tabi tutulur. Bu işlemler ağaç direğe bakır
sülfat emdirilmek veya katranlamaktır. Ağaç direklerin kullanış şekillerine göre sınıf-
landırılması şu şekildedir:
Ağaç direk çeşitleri:
• Tek ağaç direkler
• Çift ağaç direkler ( ikiz veya H )
• A direkler
• Payandalı direkler
• Kirişli direkler
• Lenteli direkler (gergi telli )
8. Şekil 12.5 Ağaç direk çeşitleri a) Lenteli direk b) Çift kirişli c) Payandalı direk d) A direk e) İkiz

9. Şekil 12.6 Taşıyıcı travers
• Köşe traversler
Enerji nakil hatlarının köşe noktalarında bulunan AG A tipi ve kafes tipi
nan AG A tipi veya kafes tipi direklerde kullanılan traverslere denir.

12. 12.4. Direklerle ilgili hesaplamalar
12.4.1. Ekonomik direk aralığı hesabı
Alçak gerilim şebekelerinde direk aralıklan 40 — 50 m. olarak belirlenmişti.
Orta ve yüksek gerilim şebekelerinde ekonomik direk açıklıkları WİDMAR’ın ekono-
mik menzil formülü ile bulunur. Bu formül,
(m) şeklindedir. Bu formülde;
max = İletkenlerin en büyük çekme kuvveti (Kg/mm2
).
= Emniyet yüksekliği
= İletkenlerin buz yüklü özgül ağırlıkları (Kg/cm3
).
lerde;
Aynı seviyede bulunan her çeşit iletkenlerin arasındaki açıklıklar.
Bu formülde ;
U… KV.olarak işletme gerilimi.
fm
…metre olarak en büyük fleş.
D1
, D2
, D3
... Metre olarak direk aralıkları.
İletkenler arası açıklıklar yukarıda verilen formüllerle hesaplanmakla bera-
ber, iletkenlerin asenkron salınımları dikkate alınarak, salınım kontrolları yapılır. Bu
kontrollar:
C taki
fleş ve azami rüzgar için,
Bölgelere göre +45 0
Cveya + 40 0
C taki fleş ve azami rüzgar yükünün %60 ını
etkiledğiği durumlar için yapılır. Her iki durum için birbirine yaklaşan iletkenler ara-
sında en az Dmin
= 0,0075.U metre (20 cm. den az olmamak üzere mesafe bulunma-
lıdır.
150 KV. tun üstündeki gerilimlerde travers boyu fazla olduğundan kontrol
lar
% 70 ve % 42’ lik rüzgâr yüklerinde yapılır. Alçak gerilim şebekelerinde alümin
yum
edilme
lidir. Bundan sonra travers uzunlukları belirlenir.
Örnek : En büyük fleşi 9 m. Olan aynnı seviyedeki bakır iletkenlerin işletme
gerilimi 150 KV. Tur. İletkenler arasındaki açıklığı bulunuz.
14. Zincir izolatörün salınım açısı ise şu formülle bulunur:
Bu formülde ifadelerin anlamları ve birimleri şu şekildedir;
= İzolatör salınım açısı
= İzolatörlere gelen rüzgar kuvveti (Kg)
= İzolatör ağırlığı (Kg)
İletkenin salınım açısı ise tg şeklinde bulunur.
12.4.4. Traversler (Konsollar)
edilirler. 180° ile 170° arasında açı. yapan hatlarda kullanılabilmektedirler. Taşıyı
cı
traverslerde iletkenler, izolatörlere taşıyıcı bağ ile bağlıdır. Traverslerde iletken
ler,
izolatörlere taşıyıcı bağ ile bağlıdır.Traverslerden (t-60), alçak gerilim A direklerinde,
(t-70) A ve kafes direklerinde, (t-80) ise A ve kafes direkler ile ortak A ve kafes direk-
15. lerde kullanılır. Her üç travers 50 mm2
1200
-1700
açı yapan direklerde kullanılır. Ortak A direklerdeki 900
-1200
açılarda
da bu traversler kullanılabilir. Köşe traversleri (z-70), (z-80) şeklinde sembolize edi-
lirler. Köşe traverslerinde iletkenler taşıyıcı bağ ile bağlıdır.Traversler direğe ikişer
ikişer olmak üzere aynı seviyede monte edilir.
vetidir.
Durdurucu direk tepe kuvveti,
Kg formülü ile bulunur.
= Direk tepe kuvveti(Kg)
S = İletken kesiti (mm2
)
max
. = En büyük çekme kuvveti (Kg/mm2
)
n = Direklerddeki iletken sayısı

.= En bü-
yük fleş (salgı) dir. Metre olarak bulunur. .
