 The latest computer craze is to wear wireless
computers.
 It mean that shrinking computer devices and
increasing computer power.
 So began to produce fashion jewellery with
embedded intelligence.
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS DIGITAL JEWELLERY ?
 Digital jewelry can best be defined as wireless, wearable computers that allow you to communicate by ways of e-
mail, voicemail, and voice communication.
 Digitaljewelleryisthe fashionjewelrywithembeddedintelligence.
 “Digitaljewelry”canhelpyou solveproblemslikeforgottenpasswordsandsecuritybadges.
 “Digital jewelry” is a nascent catchphrase for wearable ID devices that contain personal information like passwords,
identification,andaccountinformation.
Digital JewelleryandItsComponents
Instead of one single device, cell phones will be broken up into
their basic components and packaged as various pieces of
digital jewellery.
Each piece of jewellery will contain a fraction of the components
found in a conventional mobile phone.
Together, the digital-jewellery cell phone should work just like a
conventional cell phone.
ARCHITECTURE
The various components in cell phones are-
1. Microphone
2. Receiver
3. Touch pad
4. Display
5. Circuit board
6. Antenna
IBM was developed as a prototype of a cell phone
that work possibly with Bluetooth Technology.
ComponentsofcellphoneinDigital Jewellery
EarringS
 Speakers embedded.
 Works as a phone’ receiver.
 Nowadays Bluetooth devices in the form of
pendants or earrings are being developed.
Necklace
 Microphone embedded
 Transfer the information in the forms of signals
 Consist of sensors by these it will work
 Works by Bluetooth technology
Rings
 It is a “magic decoder ring” by IBM.
 It is equipped with LEDs that flash to indicate an incoming call.
 Also flashes different colors to identify a particular caller.
 It could also inform you that e-mail is piling up in ur inbox .
Java Ring
 Java ring is used for protecting purpose.
 It will automatically unlock doors & log on to computers
just as we use passwords or keys for unlocking.
 It will make the java run faster.
SOME MORE ACCESSORIES
Technical Specifications
The jewellery consists of-
1. Screen or display of 7-16 segment,or dot matrix
LEDs,LCDs
2. Speaker
3. A single flashing light
4. A sensor of some kind
5. Other information aesthetic
6. A micro controller
FutureVision
 Soon, cell phones will take a totally new form, appearing to
have no form at all.
 By the end of decade,we will be wearing our computers
rather than sitting in front of it.
 Will be able to surf web, email.
 Smart wrist watch would have wide screen to watch video
with voice recognition technology.
Applications
 They have the potential to be all-in-one replacements for your driver's license, key chain, business
cards, CREDITCARDS, health insurance card, corporate security badge, and loose cash.
 In social networking
 In intelligence field
 In medical field
 Digital jewellery can help us to solve problems like forgetton passwords and security badges
AdvantageandDisadvantages
 Advantage
• Wireless wearable
• Natural interaction between user
• It provides flexibility to users
 Disadvantage
• Display is very small
• No waterproof, care should be taken.
• Very expensive to afford.
• Rays are harmfull
 Charging capabilities and cost are just a sample of the problems that lurk.
 Display is very small.
Limitations
Conclusion
 The jewelry pieces work as a set. For example, imagine that your set consists of earrings, a necklace, and a watch.
 Your messages can be picked up and displayed on our watch.
 In order to hear the message, if it's a voice message, we can listen to it in your earrings.
 If you want to send out a message, you can talk into your necklace and it will allow you send a voice message.
 This works much like that of a cellular phone. It does almost all the same functions but looks nicer.
 Each piece has a small button on the backside of the accessory that activates the piece when pressed.
 It include a ring having vibrating chip in it, which would vibrate to inform you of any incoming messages.
 The basic idea is that convenience of wireless, wearable computers while remaining fashionably sound.
The combination of shrinking computer devices and increasing computer power has allowed several companies to
begin producing fashion jewelry with embedded intelligence.
