Old Delhi used silver coins and paper notes featuring rulers as currency, while New Delhi uses paper notes with Gandhi's picture and aluminum coins. Transportation in Old Delhi was primarily rickshaws and trains, but New Delhi relies on metro, buses, and auto rickshaws. Old Delhi reflected traditional Indian culture and values, whereas New Delhi shows more Western influences. Urbanization has led to much higher population growth in New Delhi compared to Old Delhi. While kings previously ruled Old Delhi, political power is now held by the Congress Party in New Delhi. There has been huge development from Old to New Delhi, as seen when New Delhi successfully hosted the Commonwealth Games.
