1. Did Zofran work for you with morning sickness?
In the 1950s there was a drug widely used for morning sickness called thalidomide. I wish they
would have.
. It's given to help not hurt." No one every thought it would hurt anyone, but now there are many
people in there 50s and 60s who have flipper-like arms and twisted feet.
I would be horrified if I told you to take it and 5 years from now I find out there were horrible effects
linked to its use during pregnancy.
The morning sickness will go away with time. People said the same thing about thalidomide. I know
it's rough, but it's worth going through it because babies are worth anything we can do for them that
won't hurt them. I wouldn't take unisom and zofran for morning sickness anything. "Oh, don't worry.
In order for something to be passed by the FDA, it only needs to be tested on animals. No one
stopped to think back then if taking meds for morning sickness might hurt the baby.
PS: I have never heard of anyone
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/PostmarketDrugSafetyInformationforPatientsandProviders/uc
m271924.htm who starved to death because of morning sickness. It caused horrible birth defects
and death. Animals aren't always effected the way humans are, therefore the results are not good
enough to compare.
There haven't been enough human studies on the effect of Zofran on unborn children
