Dia de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd to honor deceased loved ones. On October 31st, altars are made for dead children with marigolds, candies, bread, and tamales to guide them home. On November 1st, altars are left out for adults with alcohol, cigarettes, mole sauce, and bread. Families leave water for the dead to drink and masks are worn on the 2nd to scare spirits back to their graves.
