God Cares For Us –
1 Peter 5:6-8

Jesus is a person.

Jesus is a person - God
• John 1 1-5 In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was with
God in the beginning. Through him
all things were made; without him
nothing was made that has been
made. In him was life, and that life
was the light of men. The light shines
in the darkness, but the darkness
has not understood it.

Jesus is a person –
God become man
• John 1 14 The Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of
the One and Only, who came from
the Father, full of grace and truth.


The Christ – The Anointed One
• Matthew 16:13-16 When Jesus came to
the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked
his disciples, "Who do people say the Son
of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John
the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still
others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
• "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do
you say I am?"
• Simon Peter answered, "You are the
Christ,[a] the Son of the living God."

Jesus is a person - Supreme
• Colossians 1:15-20 He is the image
of the invisible God, the firstborn
over all creation. For by him all
things were created: things in
heaven and on earth, visible and
invisible, whether thrones or powers
or rulers or authorities; all things
were created by him and for him. He
is before all things, and in him all
things hold together. ……

Jesus is a person - Supreme
• Colossians 1:15-20 …..And he is the
head of the body, the church; he is
the beginning and the firstborn from
among the dead, so that in
everything he might have the
supremacy. For God was pleased to
have all his fullness dwell in him, and
through him to reconcile to himself
all things, whether things on earth or
things in heaven, by making peace
through his blood, shed on the cross.

Man on a mission…
• All of the recorded miracles done
through men by God put together do
not equal the miracles done through
Jesus in less than three years. Not
as many, not as varied, not as
consistently, and not is as short a
time frame were acts of God done
through a single man before Him or
since.

Jesus is a person - Friend
• John 15:9-17 "As the Father has loved
me, so have I loved you. ….. You are my
friends if you do what I command. I no
longer call you servants, because a
servant does not know his master's
business. Instead, I have called you
friends, for everything that I learned from
my Father I have made known to you.
You did not choose me, but I chose you
…... Then the Father will give you
whatever you ask in my name. This is my
command: Love each other.
