A group of students from 4th ESO visited a desalination plant near San Pedro del Pinatar on October 27, 2011. The students learned about the process of turning salty sea water into fresh water through inverse osmosis. The salt water intake for the plant is located 2 kilometers offshore. The student writing the report felt the school trip was fantastic as they learned many new things about how desalination works.

- 1. Last 27th October 2011, the students from 4th ESO ( Compulsory Secondary Education), visited the desalination plant at San Pedro del Pinatar, a coastal town not far away from La Unión. Thanks to this school trip, we had the opportunity of watching the process that shows how salty water becomes sweet. The desalination process of sea water is “inverse osmosis” and the salt water intake takes place 2 kilometers from the coast. In my opinion the school trip was fantastic because we learnt a lot of things we didn´t know before. By Rita Cadenas López ( 4º A)
