• September 2003-June 2004: Town/village, evening and Sunday reporter. As a town/village
reporter, I covered six municipalities by attending regular meetings and connecting with
community stakeholders. As an evening reporter, I covered several events throughout
Chautauqua County including special guest speakers, award ceremonies and holiday events. As
the Sunday reporter, I was also responsible for page design and obituaries.
• June 2004-July 2006: Education reporter. I covered nine school districts that included attending
board meetings and student events. I reported on school budgets, board elections and the student
learning experience.
• July 2006-September 2008: County reporter. I covered the Chautauqua County Legislature
writing about the vital issues important to more than 130,000 residents. Topics I wrote about
included budgets, taxes, political elections and public safety.
• September 2008-September 2013: Business and town/village reporter. As the business reporter,
I wrote about new businesses and those with exciting new features. As the town/village reporter,
I covered five municipalities by attending regular meetings and connecting with community
stakeholders. I was also responsible for obituaries and page design on Sunday.
• September 2013-August 2016: City reporter. I write about several city government-related
meetings, community organizations, local foundations, downtown development, urban housing
improvements, businesses, special events and well-known residents.
• August 2016-Business editor. I was awarded the extra responsibility of overseeing four
reporters who produce content for the business section. I'm also responsible for designing the
business section.
2. Gazette Newspapers
• September 2000-June 2002: The Sentinel city editor, reporter and page designer. I was a ``one-
man band'' for The Sentinel, a weekly newspaper featuring stories on local businesses, elected
officials, organizational leaders and people making an impact in the community.
• June 2002-August 2003: Gazette Newspapers sports editor, reporter and page designer. I
covered sports for eight weekly newspapers located in Ashtabula County. I wrote feature stories
on local athletes and covered high school and local youth sports.
