2. Attorney with the Government
Deborah Cohn earned her degrees from the
American University and the George Mason
University School of Law and later gained
membership with the Virginia State Bar. With that
membership and education under her belt, Deborah
Cohn was employed by the Patent and Trademark
Office in 1983. Serving there for over 30 years, Cohn
stepped down and retired inDecember of 2014.

Deborah Cohn excelled in her positions with the

Succeeding in a number of projects she had with
the government since being hired in 1983, Cohn
was invited to share her experience, knowledge
and expertise in the field for professionals of all
levels eager to learn. The now retired Cohn spoke
at a number of venues including the American Bar
Association and the American Intellectual
Property Layers Association.

3. Commissioner of Trademarks
After working with the United States Patent and
Trademarks Office, for a number of years, Deborah
Cohn’s dedication to her job paid off, and she was
promoted to Commissioner of Trademarks. Cohn was
honored to be promoted and did not take the position
lightly, but came prepared to make a difference in the
office. After accomplishing the changes and
successfully leading her team, Cohn retired in January
of 2015.

Deborah Cohn’s success as a Patent and Trademark

Trademark Office was noted by many in her field. She
was invited to speak to professionals in her field.
Seizing the opportunity, Cohn gave informative and
inspiring speeches as a guest lecturer in venues such
as the American Bar Association, American
Intellectual Property Layers Association, and the
International Trademark Association.

4. 31 Year Professional Career
Deborah Cohn has had a multitude of success of the course of her 31-year
professional career. As an attorney with the United States Patent and
Trademark Office, Cohn examined countless trademark cases. An expert in
trademark law, Deborah Cohn was an excellent Patent and Trademark Official
for the government. After four years successfully serving as the Commissioner
of Trademarks, Cohn retired in December 2014.

Deborah Cohn spent thirty-one years working as an attorney with the
government. Her success as a Patent and Trademark Office Official had no
paralleled and recognizes by many of her colleagues. During the last four years
of her work with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Deborah Cohn
served as the Commissioner for Trademarks. In January of 2015, Con retired
from the USPTO.
