August 2015 - January 2016 Weber Logistics CA
Gentran Developer, EDI Specialist
Analyzed non-EDI format inbound file to determine cause of non specific translation
errors. EDI team's previous efforts included contacting IBM Gentran Support,
no solution provided resolved issue. By systematically editing and processing the file I was
able to isolate the problem data and modify the mapping to successfully translate the
file.
Developed and tested app to app mappings to capture input non-EDI format data and
map to output file for processing into order management system.
Developed and tested app to app mappings to capture data from order management
system and format for transmission to customer.
Developed and tested mappings for various inbound and outbound EDI transactions, for
processing data from customers into order management system and for
generating transmissions to customers based on data from order management
system .
Resolved various issues involving production transmissions and maps.
Devised a methodology within EDI mappings, using array logic, to consolidate multiple
occurrences of line items within a looping structure based on specified criteria.
Devised logic to handle the use of quotations in comment fields of input file.
These resolutions avoided the need to develop custom code and modify the existing
order management system.
Developed and documented customer specific logic, modified maps accordingly and
tested.
