These two highly skilled killers, Deathstroke and Punisher, are well matched for hand-to-hand combat. Deathstroke has an edge in fighting skills while Punisher is tougher and more determined. Their fight takes them through a dense jungle, where Punisher sets traps in an attempt to weaken Deathstroke. This leads to an intense battle between the two, with both receiving injuries, until Deathstroke gains the upper hand by breaking Punisher's arm and ultimately killing him with his own severed arm.

Both menare easilyable toadapt to theirsurroundings,andcantherefore operateinnearlyany
enviormentfromrooftopsof the citytothe dense jungle.
Thisis a great match up,withDeathstroke holdingaslightedge.AlthoughPunisher'stoughnessand
drive couldbe justenoughtoovercome the Terminator.
ARGUMENT FOR DEATHSTROKE
Deathstroke the Terminator(akaSlade Wilson) isaveryhighlyskilledmercenarywhocangive Batmana
run for hismoney.He isa mastermartial artist,as well asa masterof his weaponsof choice;whichare
mainlyguns,broadswordsorkatannas,anda bo staff.On occasion,Wilsonhasbeenknowntocarry
specializedgadgetsasweaponssuchasgrapplingguns.
Slade wasinjectedwithaserumthatgiveshimregenerative powers,aswell asnearlysuperhuman
strengthandspeed.
Deathstroke wouldbe the aggressorinthisfight,huntingthe Punisheranduse hissuperiorfightingskills
to take Castle out.
ARGUMENT FOR THE PUNISHER
Frank Castle hasbeentrainedinseveral disciplinesof the military.He'sservedasamarine,completeing

a jungle.day.
The sun shinesthroughinpatchesasDeathstroke walksthroughthe trees.He pickshiswayoverfallen
treesandducks undercreepingvines,lookingforanycluesthata man had beenthisway.A broken
branch and partial bootprinttell himhe'sheadedinthe rightdirection.
Deathstroke arrivesata clearing,whensomethingcatcheshiseye.The shiningsunrevealsatripwire
attachedto a land mine buriednearby.He bendstoexamine anddisarmit.SuddenlyDeathstrokeis
stuck inthe head,hishelmetisknockedoff andbouncesaway.
Deathstroke actson instinct,divingforcoveras several more shotsflyby,strikingatree.Behindalog,
Deathstroke triestolookoutfor where the shotsare comingfrom, he'sable to spota flashfromthe rifle
inthe far distance justbefore abullethitsthe logjustbelow hisface.He leapsoverthe logwithgreat
agilityandspeedandrunsfor coverbehindalarge rock.

2. Jumpingtoavoida rain of bullets,he landsandrollsbehindthe rock.Ashe leansupbehindthe rock,he
hearsa high-pitchedbeepingsound.Deathstroke doesn'twait,he'sbackonhisfeetas a proximitybomb
explodesbehindhim,throwinghimintothe underbrush.
About3 hundredyardsaway,the Punisherseesthe explosionandstartsto move hisposition.Sofarhis
planis working.He'smanagedtopositionDeathstrokerightinthe middle of anobstacle course of
booby-traps.The firstmine wasadecoy,givingPunishertime toline upashot to take off Deathstroke's
helmet;exposingaweakpoint.
Punisherknowshe can'tstay inthe same sniperpositionfortoolong,sohe'son the move,tryingto
keepaneye on Deathstroke'slocationatthe same time.That'snot as easyas itsounds.Deathstroke is
on the defensive nowandwill be tryingtogainthe advantage anywayhe can. AsPunisheristhinking
that, anotherexplosioneruptsinthe distance,now about175 yards out.
"Damn he'smovingfast,"thinksCastle."Hopefully,he'll be atleastwounded now."
Punishercrouchesforcoveramongsta few fallentreesandrocks,hisrifle atthe readyforthe moment
Deathstroke'sheadcomesintoview.
As he searchesforhishidingfoe,he sensesmovementfromabove.Punisherlooksupjustintime tosee
Deathstroke come leapingathimfiringasubmachine gun.Punisherishitacrosshischest,luckilyhe's
armored,buthe's still knockedback.Deathstrokefollowsuphisattackwitha strongkickto Punisher's
face.Nowit's Punisherbeingknockedintothe underbrush.Castlerecoversquickly,though,andpullsa
highpoweredmachine gunfromoverhisshoulder,sprayingahail of bulletsinDeathstroke'sdirection,
but he'sgone.
Punisherisbackon the searchagain,thistime checkingthe treesaroundhim.He movesforward
cautiouslywhenhe'shitinthe shoulderbysomething.Itstickstohimand firesoff agrapplingline.The
otherendhitsa tree,andCastle isliftedoff hisfeetflyingtowardsthe tree.He hitsithard and flips
around,hisbodylandinginsome bushes.
Deathstroke stepsoutfrombehindatree,anddrawshis bostaff.He slowlywalksuptoPunisher
crawlingoutof the bushes.
"You're resilient.I'll giveyouthat."saysSlade."Thatonlymakesme wantto hurt youmore."
WIlsontwirlshisstaff andhitsCastle acrossthe back, knockinghimtothe groundand the windfromhis
lungs.PunisherrollsoverasDeathstroke comesdownwithhisstaff again,thistime Punisherisable to
dodge outof the way; pullingapistol fromaholsteronhiship,he firesat Deathstroke,whojumpsaway.
PunisheremptieshisclipandreloadsasDeathstroke comesflippingathim;Deathstroke swingshisstaff
and knocksPunisher'sgunaway;thenthe bocomesat Punisheragain.Thistime Punisherisable togeta
holdof the staff.UsingSlade'smomentumagainsthim, he'sable tohurl Deathstroke intoatree,the bo
staff disappearsamongstthe strees.

3. Deathstroke isupquicklythough,andPunisherisstaringhimdown.Punisherreachesdown,andpulls
out an enormoushuntingknife.Deathstrokereachesoverhisshoulderandunsheathshiskatanna
sword.Theystart runningat eachother,bladescollidingandthrowingupsparks.Deathstroke comes
slashingdownwithhiskatanna,forcingPunishertoa knee ashe blocksthe blow withhisknife.
Deathstroke istoofastfor Punisher'sdefensesandisable toopenup a few deepcutsonPunishersarms
alongwitha big gashacross hischeek.
Deathstroke attacksagain,Punisherisable toblocka few more slashes,butthe lasttwocut deeponhis
shoulderandchest;Deathstroke followsthe barrage upwithadevestatingpunchtoCastle'sjaw and
knockingthe knife fromhishand.
"You reallycantake a beating."Deathstroketaunts."Butyou're onlymakingthingsworse foryourself."
He swingshiskatannaat Punisher'shead,butPunisherducksoutof the way,grabbingthe fallenknife.
He lungesatDeathstroke,whododgesthe blade,grabsPunisherbythe wristand drivesanelbow into
Punisher'sforearm;breakinghisarm.Punisheryellsinpainandlooksdownathisarm, a sharp arm bone
isstickingoutof the skin.
Punisherfallsagainstatree,cradlinghisarm.Deathstroke twirlshiskatannaandstepsincloser.
"I warnedyouaboutthis.The longeryoufight,the more painyouwill suffer."He saysas he kneelsdown
nextto Castle,hisface inchesfromCastle's.
"Have you hadenough?"Deathstroke asks."Shall Ienditquickly?OrshouldIjustleave youhere to
bleedoutandletthe animalshave you?"
"How's thisforenough?!"gruntsPunisher,usingaburstof adrenaline;he ripsoff hisarm andstabs
Deathstroke inthe neckwiththe pointedend!
Deathstroke staggersback,andgrabs at the arm stickingoutof hisneck.He pullsitoutof him, blood
spurtsout of the wound,he putshishandoverto stop it.
"You fool!"Deathstroke yellsatPunisher."Nomore games!"
Andwiththat, Deathstroke takesPunisher'sownarmand stabs himthroughthe top of the head withit.
