This document summarizes Valentina Maccatrozzo's research on using creative thinking models to identify Linked Open Data (LOD) patterns that can burst filter bubbles and promote serendipity in personalization. The research aims to address the problem of over-personalization limiting a user's exposure to novel interests. It explores using LOD to discover new user interests and measures of serendipity, and the effect of time on serendipity. The approach applies creative thinking models to create serendipitous paths in the LOD cloud that can improve personalization techniques.
