Proportional Relationships.notebook November 20, 2012

       Vocabulary:

Proportional Relationship - is a relationship between two
quantities in which the ratio of one quantity to the other is
       constant.

Constant of Proportionality - If the relationship between x and
y is a proportional relationship, then the constant ratio is called
       the constant of proportionality.

                                                                                           9

Task 2:  Graph the tables on the coordinate planes
       provided

       Questions:
1.)  What do you notice about the graphs?
2.)  How are the proportional graphs different than the
       non‐proportional graphs?
3.)  What is the constant of proportionality for the
       proportional graphs?

                                                                       10

                           Before You Leave
1.) Create a point on Example 1's graph
that is the same ratio as the other data.

2.) Create a point on Example 1's graph
that is a different ratio as the other
         data.

3.) Explain your process for creating
         the points.
