Ltd in 2014 in order to assist marine sector
businesses up and down the west coast
develop and refine their security plans and
emergency preparedness procedures and to
provide Transport Canada approved
security training necessary for marine
facilities.
David had become well known as the go
to security and emergency preparedness
expert following his 30 year career with Prince Rupert Port Authority, beginning with his
role as Manager of Port Maintenance responsible for the development of a
comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all the Port’s facilities and
property, including managing multiple capital projects. As the Port grew, David moved
on to Managing marine operations and emergency response and was responsible for the
safe and secure movement of all marine traffic within the harbour. Finally, in 2001,
David took over the role of Manager of Port Security. During this career at Prince Rupert
Port Authority David oversaw and directed all port security activities and facilities. He
designed, reviewed and implemented the Port Security Plans for all port owned and
operated facilities. He worked closely with Transport Canada, CBSA, RCMP, Fire
Departments, first responders and marine service agents to establish port-wide emergency
preparedness standards and procedures. A key contribution made by David was his
oversight of the expansion of security infrastructure through the design, planning and
implementation of wireless security cameras, numerous physical security enhancements,
including card access and Motorola canopy and a state of the art Port Security Operations
Centre utilized jointly by Port Security staff and the RCMP.
David also served as Chair of the Prince Rupert Integrated law Enforcement Team
(PRILET), the first multidisciplinary law enforcement team of its kind.
