Docker Containers for Simplified, Fast and Reliable
Deployment and Operation
OpenStack is designed so every service operates independently. With Docker
containers each service is packaged and configured as a separate microservice and
then deployed as a container. When there is change in the configuration, a new
container is created replacing the old container. New containers are easy to create
and do not impact other containers.
That means with Oracle OpenStack, you can deploy one or more Cloud controller
nodes, compute nodes, network nodes, or storage nodes in a simple, efficient way. As
a result, you get simplified, reliable and fast deployment that is easy to upgrade,
operate and modify.
Integrated with Third Party Products
Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux can integrate with third-party plug-ins that are
available as part of the OpenStack Kilo release. Oracle OpenStack is also installed on
Oracle Linux which is tested with a large number of hardware platforms. These
validated configurations give you a broad range of hardware options for deploying
Oracle OpenStack.
Oracle VirtualBox Appliance for development and testing
Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux is also available on the Oracle Technical Network
as a pre-configured Oracle VM VirtualBox image for testing purposes. If you have no
previous experience with OpenStack, this can be an excellent starting point to learn
more about the technology and understand the features it provides. If you are an
experienced OpenStack user, and would like to experiment with specific features in a
completely isolated environment, the Oracle VM VirtualBox appliance is an excellent
starting point to download and run on your laptop.
Enterprise Class Support with Oracle Linux and Oracle VM
Premier Support

for Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux is available to customers who have Oracle
Linux Premier or Oracle VM Premier support at no additional charge. Support for
