Overview
‘The Face of PixiFoto Competition’ starts at the begining of week 30 (Mon 27th

AT SALES STAGE

2. Show the customer the entry form and ask them to complete their
details, sign and date the form. Don’t forget to add your name to the
entry form (Sales rep).
3. A wallet print of the selected pose must be attached to the order form in
the space provided (This cannot be returned once submitted).
4. Make sure all forms are completed in full and clearly ledgible and sent
back to the Support Office with your weekly paperwork.
PLEASE NOTE
If entry forms aren’t clearly legible and returned with the full sitting number,
customers details and signature they will not be considered for judging.
If there are multiple children in the sitting Each individual child can be entered
into the competition. Please use separate entry forms for each child.

The entry process
Entry into the competition will involve attaching
a wallet print of the chosen pose (any pose can be
chosen, wallet print non-returnable) to the entry
form. Therefore, as mentioned on the previous
page, for the duration of the competition starting
photography week 30, all poses other than the first
pose will include wallet prints. i.e. a pose collection
will be one 10x8, one 7x5 and four wallet prints as
shown.
Terms and Conditions of Entry
The competition is open to residents of the UK and Channel Islands, excluding PixiFoto employees
and friends & family, any other person or company associated with the competition. Entry to the
competition must be made by the parent or legal guardian on behalf of the child by 30th August 2015,
last photography date is Sunday 30th August 2015. Only one entry and photograph per child may be
entered. Children entered into the competition must be no older than 7 years of age at the time of
photography. Proof of age will be required to be provided for all finalists. This will be requested from
the parent/guardian, if your child is successful, prior to the finalist being announced. Your favourite
full body or head and shoulders pose will be entered into the competition. All entry forms must be
completed in full and handed back to the photographer. Photo Corporation (UK) Ltd reserves the right
to cancel any promotion and/or any competition due to circumstances outside of it’s control. The
copyright of any portrait taken belongs solely to Photo Corporation (UK) Ltd, who are entitled to use or
reproduce the photographs supplied for such purposes as they wish and that the winners’ parents or
guardians will agree to all publicity. PixiFoto normal trading terms and conditions apply. By entering
this competition the parent or guardian agrees that the promoter and the sponsors of the event shall
have the right to publish the child’s photographs in any of its publications and in any media now
known or hereinafter invented, including its website and social media. The judge’s decision is final
and no correspondence will be entered into. No cash alternative is available. PixiFoto cannot be held

finalists will be contacted via email and post to inform them that their entry
is online.
After the public vote closes on Sunday 20th
September 2015 we will then
announce the Face of PixiFoto winner and the two runners up on Monday
28th
September 2015.
Winners will be contacted by post and email to inform them that they have
won. Please ensure that all contact details are provided for entries into the

after year and you presume they
will never change, only for them to
change without you even realising, and

the last 12 months it’s been a tough year with some very challenging trading conditions. Thank you to everyone

June who weighed
in at 6lbs 12oz.
Kirsty was so busy up
dating the PixiFoto
Facebook page, she
didn’t have time to
go to hospital and
decided to give birth
in her hall way. With
partner Paul acting as
midwife Bonnie was
safely delivered at a
little after 5.30am.
A few days later and
the story made the
Manchester Evening
News!
Also celebrating a
new arrival is the HR
departments Ellie
Stiley. Ellie gave birth
to 6ib 11oz Ivy on
the 5th
June 2014.

moments before going
to press we have just
heard that Tim Moore
of accounts has had a
baby boy, Albert Jack
Moore, born 8th August,
weighing in at 7lbs 14oz.

For the last few months hundreds of
boys and girls have been transported
to the magical world of fairies, elves,
dragons and knights at a selection of
our studios.
These studios have been trialling
‘Photo Wonder’, where a normal
studio taken image is transformed via
the wonders of Photoshop into a scene
that looks as though it is straight out
of a fairy tale.

be purchased for £65 if the customer
spends £105 or more.
With a range of themes suitable for
boys and girls it really is a fantastic
way to boost your pack average.

In the summer of 1917, two cousins
living in the Yorkshire village of
Cottingley returned home claiming
they had photographed fairies. Elsie
Wright was 16 and Frances Griffiths,
was almost 10. When the photograph
was developed by Elsie’s father, it
showed Frances looking towards the
camera with four fairy figures dancing
on the bank in front of her!
Four more ‘Cottingley Fairies’
photographs were taken & for over
six decades these images where hailed
as proof of the excistance of fairies,
provoking controversy & intrigue
around the world, until in 1983,
Frances, now in her 70’s, confessed that
four of the photographs had been faked.
However that was not the end of the
story. Although she admitted that the
first four photographs had been faked,
Frances maintained that the fifth photo
was genuine and that she had regularly
observed fairy life at Cottingley as
a child. For many this fifth image
represents the possibility of fairy life.
Until her death in 1986, Frances
championed the existence of fairies
and claimed that this was the only
photograph ever taken to depict the
little people.

As well as the twelve studios trialling
Photo Wonder we also have four
studios: Edmonton, Gateshead,
Harrow and Nottingham offering a
slightly different magical experience
with ‘pixi magic’.
During‘piximagic’sessionsthestudio
is transformed into a an encharted
forest scene. The children have
great fun dressing up as fairies and
knights, a selection of poses are taken
and then special effects are added
post photography. These effects

new website development
A few weeks ago we asked you for
your ideas in regards to the PixiFoto
logo, uniforms and colours.
Thiswasallpartofthecomprehensive
planning process for a major new
chapter in the future of our national
and international operations.
We are very pleased to announce
that we are currently working on
re-branding PixiFoto. Our current
logo has served us well, and it will be
sad to see it go, but it is a remanent
of our analogue days and its time for
a rethink and refresh.
The New Logo is in its final stages
of development and will be rolled out
across the business in stages starting
week 1.
All new signage, POS, printed
material, website, uniforms, name
badges etc will feature the new logo,
as the old logo is phased out.
We will update you with any
developments as they happen, watch
this space!
In conjunction with the re-branding
of PixiFoto, we are redeveloping the
website, or to put it more accurately
we are completely rebuilding the
PixiFoto website from scratch.
It will be built completely inhouse
with a number of Support Office
departments heavily involved. This
is a very exciting opportunity to
deliver a website we can all be proud
of and will give us total control over
its development, ensuring we get
exactly what we want and need. A
visually appealing, user friendly,
interactive, and generally fantastic
website, which we will be able
adapt, edit, update and evolve as and
whenever required. The website will
contain some very exciting features
which will really help drive our
business forward and help us achieve
our long term objectives.
In line with the re-brand roll out,
the new website will also be up and
running and fully functional in time
for week 1. We will let you know
when it’s ready for your first visit!

Third hand smoke is a
hazard to babies health

We’ve all heard of the dangers of
secondhand smoke, otherwise known
as passive smoking, but what about
third hand smoke?
Third hand smoke is the smoke
contamination that persists after
second hand smoke has dissipated,
it collects on clothes, hair and skin,
and anything else within the vicinity
of the smoker.
The harmful chemicals seep into the
hair, skin, and clothes (which is what
makes them smell so bad). Meaning
that babies and children will breathe
in those toxins when being held or
cuddled. These chemicals will stay
in your clothes, on your hair and on
your skin until you wash them. You
also continue to breath out these
dangerous toxins for more than ten
minutes after you’ve put out your
last cigarette.
Similar to low-level lead exposure,
low levels of tobacco particulates
have been associated with a higher

bears etc that are not based on famous

We all understand how difficult it is
to give up smoking and in an effort
to help employees who wish to stop
smoking we provide a incentive
scheme offering financial assistance
as well as an award on its successful
completion.
To qualify for this scheme you
must currently be a five or more
cigarettes per day smoker, (if you are
smoking less and wish to participate,
please contact the Human Resources
Department for further discussion),
andhavebeencontinuouslyemployed
by the company for more than three
months. All applications must be
approved by your Line Manager and
submitted to the Human Resources
Department.
The company will provide to anyone
Bounty and Emma’s Diary are both
companies that supply packs of baby brands
and products to new mothers. Bounty Packs
are distributed via hospital maternity wards,
while Emma’s Diary is distributed viaArgos
and Boots stores.
Amongst the various samples and offers in
the packs mums will find four free sitting
vouchersfromus,youwillprobablyseethese
redeemed in your studio on a daily basis.

voucher and allow us to evaluate their value
