MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION
Credit conditions for Asia-Pacific issuers have improved in
the fourth quarter of 2013 because China's GDP growth has
stabilized at about seven-and-a-half percent and the
likelihood of a hard landing has abated in the near term. In
addition, the risks to Asia-Pacific from U.S. Federal
Reserve's tapering of quantitative easing (QE) have
lessened, as external imbalances in Asia-Pacific's key deficit
countries narrowed as a result of capital outflows in mid2013.
DBS GROUP HOLDING
CapitaLand Limited (CapitaLand) announced that it has
bought back an aggregate of 2 million shares of CapitaLand
in an on-market share buyback exercise on the Singapore
Exchange Securities Trading Limited on 6 December 2013.
This was in pursuant to the Share Buyback Mandate
approved by shareholders at the Extraordinary General
Meeting of CapitaLand held on 26 April 2013.
Keppel announced the appointment of Loh Chin Hua as
executive director and chief executive officer effective 1
January 2014. He is Keppel's CFO since 1 January 2012 until
his appointment. He is also chairman of Alpha Investment
Partners since 1 January 2012
