 Chana futures rise on tight supply:
Chana prices moved up by Rs 12 to Rs 4,540 per quintal in futures trading
today on pick up in demand ahead of the festive season amid thin supplies in
the spot market.
 Cardamom auctions to continue on record production:
Despite record cardamom exports and high domestic demand, the inventory
has still not been emptied. Traders say cardamom auctions will continue
without a break this year despite a delay in the next harvest to clear out the
high production in 2011-12.
 Potato rises in futures trade on restricted arrivals:
Supported by restricted supplies from producing regions and rising spot
demand, potato prices gained 1.44 per cent to Rs 1,314.90 per quintal in
futures market today.
 Govt removes MEP on basmati rice:
In a bid to boost exports of rice, Indian government has scrapped the
minimum export price (MEP) on basmati rice.
