Why being Active Together matters: Increasing sportWhy being Active Together ...PeterboroughCPD
This presentation will explore the benefits of getting active through first person experience, as well as discuss the very real challenges/barriers to participation that currently exist. The Active Together project looks to address many barriers to participation and utilizes Ambassadors as mentors to increase awareness and provide vital ‘first contact’ for persons who are wanting to gain access to new sporting opportunities; 2 important additional steps outlined in Canadian Sport for Life, Long Term Athlete Development (CS4L-LTAD) guidelines. Services and supports will be discussed such as a new community resource hub, outreach presentations and a special focus on AODA Customer Service Training with an emphasis on Sport and Recreation providers. The Active Together project is a cross disability project that draws strength from multiple community partners.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

2. Why do it?
• As leaders we see young people transformed and become
confident and believing in themselves.
• We see them develop team skills that will last them a life
time in all areas of their life.
• The young people leave the scheme with the skills to plan
walking and camping trips anywhere in the country and be
safe.
• The next Ranolf Fines!
• Employers see D of E on young peoples CVs and know
what it stands for.
• If they do their Gold they go to the Palace!
3. What is Bronze D of E?
• Bronze
• You can do a Bronze DofE programme once you’re 14 (or nearly
14, which sometimes happens when you and your friends decide
to start your adventure together. However, your Leader must
agree this.)
• A Bronze DofE programme has 4 sections, Volunteering,
Physical, Skills and Expedition. You must do a minimum of 3
months activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills
sections, and plan, train for and do a 2 day (1 night) Expedition.
• You also have to spend an extra three months on one of the
Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections. It’s your choice which
one and, though you can change your mind later, you should
decide which section you want to do for longer at the
beginning. Knowing how long you’re going to do it for will help
you to choose your activity and set your goals for each section.
• It will usually take you at least 6 months to complete your Bronze
programme.
