He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University, with a focus on geoenvironmental engineering and microbiology. His past research includes using electrokinetics to enhance in-situ bioremediation of contaminated soils through injection of nutrients and microbes. He has over 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals on this topic.
