Flexible heaters are manufactured by inserting between layers of dielectric
insulating material a resistive circuit that can be implemented using different
technologies such as metal sheet, ink printing or resistive wires incorporated.
MATERIALS SELECTION GUIDE FOR FLEXIBLE HEATERS
When this type of heater operates below the maximum work temperature
allowed, its life can be considered virtually infinite; in fact none of its components
undergoes significant deterioration during the normal life cycle of the product.
For this purpose, the following are determining factors:

的參考依據,不代表實際安裝後的昇溫表現,功率密
度定義為總瓦特數除以有效發熱面積。右圖為電熱片
空燒狀態下的昇溫曲線,下圖則為電熱片以背膠固定
於鋁板(210x150x5 mm)的昇溫曲線。
TEMERATURE CURVES
The following information will help user in the design stage to calculate rough watts may needed and optimum performance
and temperature conditions for specific applications are usually determined by experiment. The figure shows temperature rise
as a function of time for different wattage density. It can be used as reference before experiment or evaluation stage, but does
not represent actual heating performance after installation. Wattage density is defined as the total watts divided by the
effective heating area.

ESTIMATING POWER
Wattage is a key parameter of heater design, therefore users always want to know how much wattage is needed to warm up a
part in a given time or to maintain a given working temperature, when they have demands of heating. The following formula
can be used to determine the wattage to heat a given material, but need to add at least 20% for unknown heat losses, including
conductive, radiant, and convective losses.
功率是電熱片設計的關鍵參數,因此當有加熱需求時使用者總是希望知道,多少功率才能在固定時間內將零件預熱或維
持一定的工作溫度。以下公式可用於計算均值物體加熱所需的功率(理論值),但需要加上至少20%的不明熱損失,包
括傳導、輻射與對流的損失。

The experimental approach gives the best answer of wattage design. When
heater is made as fixed resistance, the watts could be calculated by ohm
law, if we change input voltage (W=V2/R), therefore watts could be tuning
to reach variety temperature, when heater is powered by power supply in
the experiment. Finally according to experiment result to get exact watts
consumption which meets request temperature in project, then Miyo will
be able to customize resistance for actual input voltage. For example:

熱片改由電源供應器供電,則輸出功率可任意調整以達到不同溫度。最後根據實驗結果得到符合需求溫度的功率設定,

HEATER ASSEMBLE NOTICE
Mostly heaters developed by adhesives on one side require simple operating
procedures to ensure correct assembly.

 Apply appropriate solvents and de-greasing agents such as isopropyl
alcohol to clean adhered surface

When heat distribution required by the application, it is possible, easily
and with no additional cost, to equip the heater with areas having
different specific heating power. Similarly, on the same surface there can
be setting two or more separate heating circuits.
ADDED VALUE SERVICE

-Multi power heater element-
Miyo heaters can also be designed as dual wattage heaters with
independent zones. This allows the delivery of more heat for the initial
heat-up of the part, but less heat to maintain the part at a given
temperature.
Multi power designs provide an unusual heat control scheme when
variable input voltage is not available. Each heating element has its own
input wire set which is controlled independently – giving the engineer the
ability to step wattage output, blend heating schemes, or pulsate between
heating elements to satisfy a unique requirement in the OEM’s device.
Sometimes heats will implement multiple conductor widths within the
same layout, providing multiple resistance levels. Input voltage is required
for each element.
電熱片設計為雙功率輸出且加熱區域各自獨立,可為初始升溫時提供
更多熱能,當特定溫度到達後以較低功率維持恆溫需求。多功率輸出
設計可作為溫度控制的解決方案,尤其在不同輸入電壓不可任意轉換

-Multi zone heater element-
Miyo can design different sections of the flexible heaters to have different watt densities. This can be done to compensate for
edge loss on the outside perimeter of a part to supply more wattage to a given section of the part.
The application of zone heaters provides designers with the ability to provide segments of their system with differing zones of
wattage under one control scheme. This usually accompanies the need for a unique heating requirement coupled with space
constraints or the desire to limit controls.
銘優可設計電熱片分區提供有不同的功率密度,通常透過這樣的方式補償電熱片外緣因靠近接觸面外部所造成的溫度差
異,藉由提供該區域更多的輸出瓦數作為解決方案,分區加熱應用可讓設計人員在系統中以同一組控制線路達到不同瓦

3.Thermal insulation
Apply sponge insulation on heater top to increase heater efficiency, such
as EPDM, NBR or silicone foam material.

Polyimide film heaters are produced by chemical etching process and can be made in an unlimited range of shapes, sizes and
wattages. Their thin, lightweight design (0.15 mm thick) allows close thermal contact for maximum heating efficiency, and also
permits close adaptation to the outline of the part with temperatures up to 150°C continuously and 200°C for peaks.
They are used in various application fields such as the aerospace, medical, electronic, military and many others. The reliability
over time even under extreme conditions in applications which are required a bending of the product make it the best choice in
professional and military field. Upon request Miyo has also available a wide range of accessories such as fixed and adjustable
thermostats and sensors as thermal control.
聚醯亞胺薄膜電熱片線路採蝕刻方式製造,因此可提供客製化外型、尺寸與功率設計。超薄的外型厚度(0.15 mm)可與

Silicone rubber heaters are produced by chemical etching and allowed to reduce the thickness of the heating element down to
min. 1.0 mm with temperatures up to 230°C continuously and up to 300°C for peaks.
They are used in various application fields such as the aerospace, vessels, household appliances, dishwashers, cooking plans,
kettles, heating bands for drums and many others. The reliability over time under extreme conditions of silicone rubber makes
this product the best choice in industry and medicine. Upon request Miyo has also available a wide range of accessories such as
fixed and adjustable thermostats and sensors as thermal control.
矽橡膠電熱片線路採蝕刻方式製造,成品厚度最低可至 1.0 mm且最高可提供連續230°C或瞬間300°C工作溫度。

Polyester ink heaters are produced by silk screen printing process with minimum possible thickness of the heater (min. 0.2 mm).
These heaters are based on low resistance printed silver as current distributor and then a layer of conductive ink assures the
heating characteristics. The heat is generated by a number of parallel connected polymer resistors and is therefore very sturdy
and insensitive to small damages.
They are mostly used in low power applications at middle to high voltage were one normally need to use rather precious metals
to get the as low power as need, normally apply for Economical mass production and low wattage application.
聚酯印刷式電熱片採網印方式製造,成品厚度最低約0.2 mm。電熱片線路由低電阻印刷銀漿作為電流導體搭配電阻油墨
印刷達到發熱所需導電特性,且由多個串並聯線路組成,因此局部損壞並不影響其他區域發熱特性。
此類產品適用於具經濟規模的批量生產和低功耗應用,例如汽車除霧後視鏡。

  • 4. 4 Flexible heaters are manufactured by inserting between layers of dielectric insulating material a resistive circuit that can be implemented using different technologies such as metal sheet, ink printing or resistive wires incorporated. MATERIALS SELECTION GUIDE FOR FLEXIBLE HEATERS When this type of heater operates below the maximum work temperature allowed, its life can be considered virtually infinite; in fact none of its components undergoes significant deterioration during the normal life cycle of the product.   • 6. 6 ESTIMATING POWER Wattage is a key parameter of heater design, therefore users always want to know how much wattage is needed to warm up a part in a given time or to maintain a given working temperature, when they have demands of heating. When heater is made as fixed resistance, the watts could be calculated by ohm law, if we change input voltage (W=V2/R), therefore watts could be tuning to reach variety temperature, when heater is powered by power supply in the experiment. Finally according to experiment result to get exact watts consumption which meets request temperature in project, then Miyo will be able to customize resistance for actual input voltage.   • 9. 9 When heat distribution required by the application, it is possible, easily and with no additional cost, to equip the heater with areas having different specific heating power. Similarly, on the same surface there can be setting two or more separate heating circuits. This allows the delivery of more heat for the initial heat-up of the part, but less heat to maintain the part at a given temperature. Multi power designs provide an unusual heat control scheme when variable input voltage is not available. Each heating element has its own input wire set which is controlled independently – giving the engineer the ability to step wattage output, blend heating schemes, or pulsate between heating elements to satisfy a unique requirement in the OEM’s device. Sometimes heats will implement multiple conductor widths within the same layout, providing multiple resistance levels. This can be done to compensate for edge loss on the outside perimeter of a part to supply more wattage to a given section of the part. The application of zone heaters provides designers with the ability to provide segments of their system with differing zones of wattage under one control scheme. These heaters are based on low resistance printed silver as current distributor and then a layer of conductive ink assures the heating characteristics. The heat is generated by a number of parallel connected polymer resistors and is therefore very sturdy and insensitive to small damages.
