Application for position as Drilling Supervisor.
As described in the below Occupational listing I’m currently working as DSV for Apache, who
recently has announced considerable cut backs due to the industrial down turn for our industry.
Apache are reducing from seven to two working strings over a foreseeable future
For this reason I have decided to seek employment elsewhere.
I have enjoyed my time on the Beryl Alpha and managed to build up a very strong team around me.
We have had our challenges in drilling ERD wells from a forty year old twin drilling rig, with dual
activities most of times. (Drilling, upgrade work and wireline interventions)
The Beryl field has quite a few challenges on offer in form of localised formation changes, resulting
in every well been unique in most cases.
Archer has the drilling contract with Apache and we have managed to build up a very strong team
during my time here.
I can proudly announce that our safety record has been almost excellent during my time her.
I see myself as a team player and through good sound communication and planning we have
managed to deliver the majority of the wells within budget.
During my time on Beryl Alpha we have manage to operate one rig while upgrading the opposite
rig, by running a smaller upgrade crew. Along with occasional wireline operations through non
drilling rig.
Given the geographical position of the Beryl Alpha platform and the various operations, the
logistics has been challenging but through good planning by all we have experienced very little
operational interruptions during my time.

4. I honestly feel I have a very good insight and knowledge in running a efficient and safe rig.
Managing personnel with multi ethnical backgrounds is one of my forces. I am familiar and
experienced in precise reporting, computer literate and I known as a type who always look for
solutions and results.( Open wells and well view reporting systems)
I feel I have a solid background for applying for a position as DSV.
Based on my knowledge in most types of drilling equipment and down hole challenges plus my
ability to recognise and deal with problems that may occur.
It is my hope that this letter has created an interest in me and my qualities/ qualifications, which I
hope could be made even more obliviously during a interwiev.
I am naturally available and willing to travel to Aberdeen on short notice.
Yours sincerely
