which I joined in December 2013 from Growhow UK .I hold the
position of Shift Supervisor Nitric Acid Plant and MNB at present
but will be trained in Aniline and Formalin. At Billlingham I held
the position of an Ammonia 4 Plant/ 3 Nitric Acid plants and
Tank Farm Shift Supervisor/1st line Manager; I have 37 years’
experience in the Chemical Industry (Comah reg plants) on
Teesside. I started at 19 with ICI and which was taken over in
1998 by Terra Industries and became Terra Nitrogen UK
(American),now due to the amalgamation of large Fertilizer
companies it is now known as GrowHow UK I have attended
and contributed to a shutdown in the USA at Terra Verdigris
Oklahoma plant. Joined Sadara in their quest to start up and run
26 state of the art world large scale plants in a joint venture
between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemicals
The Ammonia 4 Plant
The Ammonia 4 Plant UK is a large scale single stream producing plant
taking Nat Gas feedstock 37,000 m/hr to produce differing pressures of
steam from 100 bar to 1 bar plus large amounts of CO2 and finally up to
68 tons per hour of Ammonia liquid/gas 24/7

I co-ordinate maintenance activities and defects through a permit to work
system over many years to minimise downtime, I have challenged and
investigated issues resolving production limits to maximise production and
challenge energy efficiency of plants which is very important on both
Ammonia/Nitric Acid Plants which I know is also relevant to a H2S plant

My career within Sadara involves the training of a shift team to commission 2
