Guidelines
• Bring to class a current event that pertains to
this week’s topic.
• Read/Summarize the event to the class.
• Lead a discussion. Be prepared to ask the class
questions on their viewpoint about the event.
• Conclude. You can summarize your
interpretation of the varying viewpoints the class
had. What is the overall attitude? Why?
Examples of Current Events
• Upcoming elections/debates as they relate to
class topics
• Ongoing prison strike – largest in our country’s in
history
• Native American pipeline protest in North
Dakota
• Big Pharma – epi-pen mark up, proposition 61
• War in Syria and the refugee problem
• Police treatment of mental ill , African
Americans, unarmed citizens.
