This document describes the development of an autonomous indoor blimp and its control system. A prototype was built using commercially available low-cost components, including a Raspberry Pi computer, camera, IMU, batteries and propulsion system. The blimp is 3.5 meters long and can fly untethered for up to 4 hours on a single battery charge. An onboard visual-inertial navigation system estimates the blimp's position and orientation to enable station-keeping and target following behaviors without external positioning systems or ground control. The system was tested and evaluated through indoor flight experiments.

This project characterized an unconventional Upper Jurassic reservoir in northern Mexico through an integrated geoscience analysis. The analysis included well log evaluation, seismic analysis, and geological modeling to predict total organic carbon (TOC) and brittleness distributions in 3D and characterize natural fractures and in situ stresses. TOC and brittleness predictions from well data correlated highly with seismic attributes and rock properties. While the seismic survey was not wide-azimuth, fracture information could still be extracted and correlated with wellbore images. The results provide insights into the reservoir's potential for hydraulic fracturing and hydrocarbon production from the shale formation.

Desalination is an increasingly important process for obtaining fresh water by removing salt from seawater or salty water. Reverse osmosis is now the most widely used desalination technology, using membranes to filter out salt at high pressure. Significant technological advancements have improved the efficiency and reduced the costs of reverse osmosis desalination, including higher productivity membrane elements, more efficient pumps, and energy recovery devices. However, desalination plants still face challenges from high costs and potential environmental impacts. Further research aims to advance membrane and energy technologies to make desalination more sustainable and cost-effective.
