Crowdy & Rose has practised
law for over 200 years and
today operates from two
locations – a main office in
the Oxfordshire market town
of Faringdon and a branch
office in nearby Lechlade. As
a law firm they have a need for
a reliable, hassle-free, cost-
effective print solution.
At the time the firm approached
TA Triumph-Adler they had
a printer contract which was
about to end. This contract
into which they were tied for
five years had not worked
out as planned. Over time the
print hardware was unreliable,
as was the service support,
meaning that they had lost
confidence in their supplier. The
ongoing service difficulties were
compounded by the fact service
engineers were located miles
away and response times were
poor. Often the remedy was
short term and a further call out
was required.
The two main headaches
Crowdy & Rose kept coming
up against were far too much
downtime and poor toner
management.
The A3 colour multi-function
printer (MFP) and A4 colour
laser printers that they had in
each office were from a well-
known brand but they regularly
broke down. What’s more, if the
fault couldn’t be rectified over
the phone, they would have to
wait an unacceptable period
of time for a service engineer
to visit and the delay was even
longer if parts were needed.
This created unnecessary
stress for the office manager
and partners, especially when
working on time-sensitive
important client matters.
Another frustration for the firm
was the complete lack of toner
management. The previous
supplier made the ordering of
new consumables a process
that created further stress and
unnecessary downtime.
The solution…
When the existing contract
was ending, Crowdy & Rose
needed to find a new supplier
that was a local company with
a locally-based service centre.
They asked TA Triumph-Adler
to tender as they are located
a few miles up the road from
the firm’s offices and they felt
it would be beneficial when
arranging service engineer visits
or any other help that might
be needed. Excellent service

Having listened to the specific
needs of Crowdy & Rose, TA
Triumph-Adler proposed the
installation of a more functional
and up to date fleet of devices as
part of a managed print solution.
In Faringdon, a 261ci A4 colour
MFP was installed alongside an A3
colour MFP – the 4505ci. These
devices offer fast, high-quality
printing and copying in colour and
mono, plus high-speed scanning.
Thanks to TA Triumph-Adler’s
adaptive HyPAS interface, Crowdy
& Rose can integrate additional
document management and
software solutions such as Print
& Follow, electronic document
faxing, archiving and storage too.
For ease of use the devices feature
an easy-to-use smartphone-like
touch panel. A super-reliable
desktop P-C2660 high capacity
colour printer was also installed
in an upstairs office in Faringdon
while 261ci and 4505ci devices
were installed in the Lechlade
branch. Users received full training
following installation, which was
all handled to minimise disruption
by TA Triumph-Adler’s professional
services installation team.
