Cristian Mungiu is a renowned Romanian filmmaker and screenwriter known for realistically portraying life in Romania through films that have won numerous international awards. 9. Tales from the
Golden Age
Taste, comic and highly addictive - these are qualities
shorts conglomerate called Tales from the Golden
Age. Mungiu uses some urban legends of the
communist time to create a series of comic events
intertwined with melancholy period "gold".
Presenting situations more or less hilarious that a
banana as key elements, a pig and a bottle, a hat or a
messy lesson in the style of "The Most Beloved of
Earthlings" with his sickle Moceanu, Mungiu
manages to reconstruct a vintage gray Romania in a
comical note, even cynical in some situations.

the hills
His latest creation, Beyond the hills, is perhaps the
most disturbing story of the beginning of the XXI
century. The sequences derived from the horror like The
Exorcist or The Pattim of Jesus and the movie based on the
novel by Tatiana Niculescu Bran, Deadly Confession
combines drama orphans are in a period of booming
capitalism and religious fanaticism of a priest trying to
