www.writersmarket.com – an on-line version of the “writer’s Bible” with hundreds of listings of
markets for freelance writing and other resources for authors. A subscription will include regular e-
letter blurbs and dozens of invitations to sign up for various webinar courses.
www.houstonwritersguild.org – the website for the local Houston Writers Guild. You can sign up for
an e-letter and find out about local critique groups. The Guild offers two local writers conferences –
one in the spring and one in the fall.
www.writenowcoach.com – a service offered by author Rochelle Melander who, for fee, will coach
you by the hour and invite to monthly free Master Mind Classes where she interviews authors and
discusses a variety of writing business related topics from getting organized to blogging to finding a
home for what you write.
www.MargieLawson.com – a professional counselor-author who has developed a “deep EDITS
System” to help authors develop realistic characters, settings, plot, and dialogue. She offers
Immersion Master Classes several times a year at her personal retreat center in Colorado and other
places.
www.editorsandpreditors.com – a site where published authors file consumer complaints against
people who take advantage of beginning writers.
