How to nourish your spirit
Create Meaning into Your Life
Meaning Through Service
• Life’s meaning provides a sense of purpose to keep our
spirit alive.
• Create purpose through your strength & talent in service.
• People are born with unique strengths & talents that
others need.
• If you aren’t helping others through your skills, then
everyone will suffer:
▫ 1) You suffer because you aren’t creating meaning into your
life.
▫ 2) Others suffer because you’re depriving them of the
services they need to live well.
Fulfill Your Purpose
• As long as you live, your craving for meaning will
always be there.
• This means you would need to serve others.
• When you are not fulfilling that human need,
you would experience suffering.
Volunteering
• If your work does not support your strength/talent,
then volunteer for 1-2 hours a week in activities that
need your skills.
• If your work supports your skills, then you’re on the
right track.
• If you’re retired, then you can do volunteer work
that allows you to use your skills.
• It does not matter what stage of life you’re in,
creating meaning is a lifelong task.
