To become a certified public accountant
(CPA) in the state of New York, an
accountant must fulfill educational,
experience, and testing requirements. A
CPA must have earned an accredited
bachelor's degree or higher with at least 24
semester hours in accounting.

3.  Specifics of coursework breakdowns depend
on the total number of hours completed,
though candidates with more than 15 years of
experience may have education requirements
