COY10
The 10th Conference of Youth is an event that gathers young people from around the globe interested in actions to address climate change and sustainable lifestyles. It will be held from 28th to 30th November in Lima, capital of Republic of Peru.
The COY is a space driven by YOUNGO1 and represents a learning and organizational platform in which experience and good practices are exchanged for bringing together and strengthening the world youth climate movement and involve the next generations into develop of actions against climate change in the framework of international cooperation. Because of these reasons, it became the most important annual youth event on climate change around the world.
Main Objective
To establish an environment of information, coordination and organization for the world’s youth in order to develop the Youth Climate Agenda towards COP20 and COP21.
Aims General Aims Specific Aims Information To Position the role of youth in the fight against climate change To make public the role of youth and its relevance when addressing climate change. To make visible and promote sustainable lifestyles for new generations. Empower young people to enhance their action and incidence on global climate change decisions Strengthen knowledge on climate change and negotiation processes in the framework of international cooperation. Develop skills and provide tools to enhance actions and incidence on global climate change decisions. Coordination Promote solidarity and cooperation among young people to enhance action and incidence against climate change Promote exchange of knowledge and experiences to generate opportunities for taking actions and joint incidence. Increase and strengthen youth networks around climate change. Organization Build a climate agenda and a youth declaration to enhance the incidence on global climate change decisions Establish an international youth agenda about climate change aiming the COP21. Discuss and approve a declaration that legitimizes and endorses a global youth position about climate change.
Target Public
The Conference of Youth has as target to host young people from around the world.
Application requirements are:
- Be between 15 and 35 years old (to be born between 01/01/1980 and 31/12/1999).
- In case of underage, the minor must file a letter of authorization from their parents or guardian.
- To belong to any movement, institution, organization, group or other initiatives interested in climate change issues.
- To fill up the application sheet until November 2nd at 23:59 (Peruvian time).

We cover lunches (vegetarian menu).
Stay:
We have three alternatives: Camp (to 500 people), homestay (to 50 people) and facilities to find low-priced hostels.
Additionals:
- We are preparing free city tours to discover Lima.
- You can participate as: Coach of Training sessions, Facilitator of Skill-sharing workshops, exhibitor of fair or side events.
- At night you can enjoy the cultural expressions of our country: music and dance. Our intention is that you to fall in love with Peru.
