I’m Northampton born and bred, I have played, coached and worked
in the local area since I was 8 years old. Football has been my passion
throughout my life. I eat, drink and breathe football.
If you lookat my CV I have a vast amountof experience/knowledge withinthe footballenvironment,
especiallygrassroots. Thiswouldbe mydreamcareer move andI have waiteda longtime foran
opportunitylike this. Iknowthat I wouldbe able togive somuch if I was offeredthisjob. Ihave a
real passion forlearning/understandingnew dimensionsof aworkingenvironmentespeciallyasitis
football!
I understandthatlegislation/guidelinesare akeycomponentwhichhelpwiththe guidance and
developmentof football withinthe county.
The FA’snational learningstrategyhasalongterm planand withinit,smallershorttermtargets
whichhave to be achievedtosee the significantchange of Englishfootballover20 years.Thisis
where the countycome into playmakingsure that the funding,plansand facilitiesgiven,have the
rightimpact onlocal football atall ages,levelsandabilities.Thisiswhere Ifeel I have the
knowledge,experience andpassiontohelpdrive thispositivestepbythe FA.Ibelieve that
increasingnewcoachesandeducatingexistingcoacheswill surelyhave ahuge beneficial impacton
the standard andenjoymentof the game.The same goeswithimprovingfacilitiesandfootball
pitchesinthe county.I believewe nowhave atleast10 all-weatherpitchesinNorthampton and
that’snot includingthe restof the county. All of whichare withinschool grounds.Ioftensee theses
pitchesemptyoutof school timesandwonderwhythe FA haven’ttakenadvantage of this.Maybe
theyhave had issueswhich arose haltinganyprogress.Englishweatherisbecomingmore diverse
and to go back to whatthe FA includedintheir “strategy”,wastoincrease the participationof
football more oftenandincrease the female levelby11%.This wouldbe anexcellentopportunityto
achieve this.
From myexperience of workinginthe cateringenvironmentIhave learntthatpositive feedbackand
respectforyour teamisvital in achievingthe continuous goalssetbyourmanagement.Ioftenwork
side byside withcolleagues andhave alwaysletthemexpresstheirskillsandcharacterto progress
withinthe job.Ifeel thatbywideningthe boundariesandwiththe constant use of theirown
initiative,myteamhave achievedgreatheightswithinthe Barclayssectorforfood& hospitality.Last
yearwe achievedagrossprofit of 2.2 millionthiswasmore thananyothersite withinthe UK.This
has happenedbecause Ihave workedefficientlyandusedmyowninitiativetoconstantlyhithigh
quarterlytargetsthatwere set. I am constantlyincontact withlocal suppliersof NorthamptonasI
believethatlocal freshfoodisthe wayforward.
I am workingcloselywithacompanywhoofferthe chance forpeople withdisabilitiestogainwork
withinourcateringindustry. Ihave alreadytakenona lovelygentlemanwhohasbeenwithusfor
some time now.He has establishedhimself asa goodreliable workerwithinmyteam.Ihave slowly
developedhis skillsand hischaracterwhichmakeshima pleasure toworkwith.Ihave a youngman
whowill alsobecomingtostarthistrade withussoon.
