Career highlights; Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster Material Review Board
(MRB) Chairmanship (1988 – 1997), development and implementation of the
Electrostatic Discharge Board for the Space Shuttle program. Electrical Design
IPT lead, implementing 1,000 channels of data collection for development and
technological validation on the first 5-segment booster (ETM-3), Lead a trade
study which streamlined the current document review and approval process
(elimination of unnecessary/duplicated reviews and signatures). Technical
lead a design team which developed and established a fail-safe design for
catastrophic test occurrence (aft skirt actuation hard over). Designed, funded
and built an electrostatic test facility. CAM for Test programs both on and off-
site. PM over the first time fail-safe test of the Aft skirt hydraulics system (One
APU out). Program Manager for full scale static testing of NASA Solid Rocket
Motors (12), Supervised PM responsible for 9 medium and small test motors
2. over an 8 year period. Successful testing of multiple DoD items (warheads,
nozzle throats, missiles, anti-personnel weaponry, flash-bang, etc.).
Successful bid development for TOW motor testing projects for Israeli and
Saudi governments, SLS display motor, and Propellant development
programs.
During my career I have implemented streamlining concepts which reduced
overall discrepancies, eliminated unnecessary reviews, consolidated like
functions reducing tact time, reduced outside vendor support costing,
implemented cutting edge design changes and process improvements, 100%
records data accuracy over a 10 year period, and have met or exceeded all
budgeted project limits. Other experience includes ISO 9000 requirements,
certification and continued compliance, lead the successful A2LA certification
of a vibration facility, and have lead Cost of Poor Quality evaluations.
Received a nomination for National Award for Space Achievement (Stellar) for
the advancement of space science and technology for work on Large Rocket
Motors. I have proven leadership abilities, excellent communication, personnel
and presentation skills, am computer literate, have lead multi-disciplined teams
across functional departments. I am well versed in governmental compliance
documentation along with commercial program support and development. I
have provided positive and effective results in all areas to which I have been
assigned.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics and Operations
Management from Weber State University and hold a Certificate in Computer
Technology from Control Data Institute.
