- Serbia has a population of 7.2 million people and its capital and largest city is Belgrade. The main religion is Eastern Orthodox and the main ethnic group is Serbs.
- Some key opportunities for export include pharmaceuticals. Bangladesh has a large and growing pharmaceutical industry that could help address shortages in Serbia of certain drugs like lithium carbonate. Exporting generic versions of these drugs from Bangladesh could result in significant profit margins of around 76% compared to local prices in Serbia.
- Overall, Serbia presents opportunities for Bangladeshi exporters, as government reforms have made it easier to do business and access foreign markets. The pharmaceutical industry in particular appears primed for Bangladeshi exports given production issues and price advantages

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

17. Do’s
• Dress formal and conservative.
• Maintain eye contact throughout the conversation.
This is both a sign of respect and sincerity.
• Family ties and relationships are important to Serbs.
Feel free to ask personal questions.
• Knowing some basic facts about Serbia and Serbian
words, is not expected but dearly appreciated.
Showing interest in the country of you business
counterpart could strengthen the business
relationship.
18. Dont’s
• Avoid discussing politics, Kosovo, the Bosnian and
Croatian Civil War, and NATO bombing of 1999.
• Do not interrupt while somebody's speaking,
especially a person of authority.
• Don't be surprised if greeting rituals are more
intimate than you are used to. If you have done
business more often in Serbia, you may be expected
to give a hug, or even a kiss on the cheek three
times. However, do not initiate this step on your
own.
20. ENVIRONMENT OF THE BUSINESS
OPPORTUNITIES
• In the year 2008 Serbia experienced dynamic, but
unsustainable, growth.
• Then came the global crisis where Serbia:
• faced a lacklustre economy
• high unemployment, and
• a narrow export base.
• Therefore with productivity-boosting reforms that are
supported and coordinated at the highest levels, Serbia, like
other countries, can achieve much higher growth and raise the
employment and standards of living of its citizens.
21. Continued
• PAST SITUATION
Before the crisis Serbia‘s growth performance had
been solid, but characterized by major imbalances.
• CURRENT SITUATION
In order to have both dynamic and better
balanced growth, Serbia needs to rely more on
exports.
• THE FUTURE
EU accession, as well as access to markets of
developing countries is major opportunities not to
be missed.
22. JUSTIFICATION OF DOING EXPORTS
• This suggests a need now to shift to a much
more dynamic growth model, based on higher
productivity, competitiveness, and exports.
23. Why choosing export as a business
opportunity?
• Multiple government reforms have streamlined
the procedures for opening and closing
businesses,
• improved access to credit,
• reinforced competition policy laws,
• easier to enforce contracts.
24. FOR EXAMPLE
• Today it takes 13 days and costs 7.9 percent of
income per capita to start a new business,
compared to 56 days and 15 percent in 2005.
25. Pharmaceutical Industry
SERBIA BANGLADESH
• Due to financial shortfalls and
other issues, production of
certain drugs has decreased
and the supply is becoming
scarce.
• "Medicines such as Lithium
Carbonate, Artane, Fluneren
capsules and Plirazid + for
months are not available
• Bangladesh can export Tk
15,000 cr medicine a year
by 2015.
26. Regulations of Pharmaceutical Industry
SERBIA
• The State regulations show that the drugs with same
chemical compositions appear cheaper when they are
imported than when they are bought from domestic
manufactures.
• This creates dissatisfaction among domestic companies,
which are trying, for several years now, to follow the
prices of the imported pharmaceutical products.
27. Pharmaceutical Industry
SERBIA BANGLADESH
• Generic Lithobid (Lithium
Carbonate)
• Price per pill in Serbia through
selected stores and online
pharmacies is almost $1=BDT
79
• LITHOSUN SR (Lithium
Carbonate)
• Price per pill in Bangladesh
from Sun Manufacturers Ltd
will cost approximately BDT
