Him
The vision we had for our main character was
that he is a working class man, because of this
we thought it would be best if he wore a suit. We
thought that this would allow our audience to
connect to him more, making him more relatable
. We wanted the suit to be scruffy, with the tie
loosened, buttons slightly undone, with dirt and
blood displayed on the white shirt. We thought
that this would be effective as it supports our
music video’s story line – the idea that our male
character killed his wife. This is why the blood
would be seen on his shirt, as well as some
displayed on his face and hands. The dirt would
be necessary as in our music video our male
character will be seen digging, digging a grave for
his now dead wife. Due to this physical work,
realistically dirt would appear on his attire.
Her
For our female character, again we wanted
to create a working class look. She will be
wearing a skirt, shirt and blazer as well as a
pair of heels. We want her to look very
feminine, in comparison to our male
character who will be looking extremely
masculine. We thought this would be a way
for audience members to relate and well as
feel sorry for our female character when
she is murdered. She will also be wearing
red lipstick, we thought that this could be
used in order to creating a foreshadowing
of blood and death. It also supports her
femininity.
