Individual Social Responsibility
Meaning:
Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) is about an individual becoming responsible in his/her actions that has an
effect on communities outside his/her immediate circle.
Features:
"The individual social responsibility includes the engagement of each person towards the community where he lives,
which can be expressed as an interest towards what’s happening in the community, as well as in the active participation
in the solving of some of the local problems.
Under community we understand the village, the small town or the residential complex in the big city, where lives every
one of us. Each community lives its own life that undergoes a process of development all the time. And everyone of us
could take part in that development in different ways, for example by taking part in cleaning of the street on which he
lives, by taking part in organization of an event, connected with the history of the town or the village or by rendering
social services to children without parents or elderly people.
The individual social responsibility also could be expressed in making donations for significant for the society causes –

Corporate social responsibility can be referred to as "corporate citizenship" and can involve incurring short-
term costs that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but instead promote positive
social and environmental change.
The term "corporate social responsibility" became popular in the 1960s and has remained a term used
indiscriminately.
Features:
Corporate Social Responsibility is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and
environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with their stakeholders. CSR is generally
understood as being the way through which a company achieves a balance of economic, environmental and
social imperatives (“Triple-Bottom-Line- Approach”), while at the same time addressing the expectations of
shareholders and stakeholders. In this sense it is important to draw a distinction between CSR, which can be a
strategic business management concept, and charity, sponsorships or philanthropy

Save Our Strays was founded in November 2003 by Shirley Advani in her immediate neighborhood of
Andheri (west), today our area of operation has expanded from Bandra to Dahisar in the western surburbs.
Our main focus is to keep the population of Dogs & Cats under control and keep the city litter free.
Activities Undertaken:
1. Sterilization - Our main focus is to keep the population of dogs and cats under control.
2. Vaccinations and Rabies Eradication - We work to safeguard the health of animals and in turn humans
through vaccination and first aid drives conducted in the city.
3. Animal Health Care - With the support of our ambulance and our volunteers, we attend to as many calls of
animals in distress.
4. Adoptions - We do our best to find to find a home for our animals.

Our Story
It all started off with a single rescued puppy that needed to be homed.
A page was created on Facebook for the little puppy's adoption, and surprisingly, before we knew it, the page
members were in the thousands and the rescued animals gradually reached hundreds. Eventually, we started
getting calls from animals that needed rescuing, and we started putting them up for adoption. The community
grew stronger as more and more animal lovers came together to support the cause and more people started
opening their hearts and homes to the street animals.
On the 17th of January 2010 World For All Animal Care & Adoptions was formally inaugurated as an animal
welfare NGO.
Our Vision:
"One day every stray animal in India will be treated with love, dignity and compassion and will find a place in
our homes, hearts and lives."

How can an individual help the foundation :
ADOPT:
ALL of the animals rescued by WFA are picked up from dangerous and heart wrenching situations. These animals n
don’t have a home to call their own; their chances of survival out on the streets are next to negligible. This kind of
suffering can be reduced dramatically, if more people came forward to adopt strays instead of looking to buy
a breed. You'll also help save the lives of two animals—the pet you adopt and a homeless stray animal somewhere
who can be rescued because of space you helped free up
FOSTER:
Cannot adopt a furry bundle but always wanted to be parent to one? Our Foster Program is just for you! Become
a Halfway Home and help our rescued pups and kittens find their eventual forever homes!
VOLUNTEER:
Volunteer your time & effort for the cause of stray animal welfare. Help us out with animal transport, during World
For All stall events & fund raiser gatherings and office admin work, and ease our load a big way.
DONATE:
Go through our online wishlist and help us check off things we need. Donate to us, and help us help the animals in
need. All donations made to World For All Animal Care & Adoptions are tax exempted.

3. In Defence Of Animals:
INTRODUCTION:
Today even in Metropolitan cities like Mumbai, bullock and pony carts are seen plying alongside cars and
motorbikes; cows and buffaloes, let loose by dairy owners after extracting the milk are seen loitering or sitting
right in the middle of busy streets and eating from the garbage, which consist of plastic, paper and sometimes
even pins, hooks, or battery cells. Similarly donkeys used for carrying loads are let loose to eat from the
garbage dumps.
There are fewer people helping such animals to get rid of the suffering they bare while living a life on street,
one such name is “IN DEFENCE OF ANIMALS- IDA”
IDA INDIA is a non profit grass root level animal protection organisation, dedicated towards establishing and
defending the rights of all non - human living creatures.

HISTORY:
IDA was born on 31st October 1996. Immediately the project of neutering of street dogs was taken up. A small
beginning was made in March 1997 in two garages of a residential colony in a suburb of Mumbai.
For three years IDA INDIA worked in small make shift camps. With the intervention of the Mumbai High Court,
the Corporation handed over the premises at Deonar to IDA INDIA on 22nd December 1999.
Like human being, animals also have a dream to have a “Home with family”….

Introduction:
At IDA India, believes that our moral duty as human individuals is to help & assist the animals to the best of
our ability. We have no major philosophies, but we believe that animals have a right to food, shelter, comfort,
love and life like we do. We were perhaps born to alleviate the suffering of these neglected, abused, four
legged; slithering and feathered friends...our co-inhabitants, who came to this planet before us, our soul mates
from the animal kingdom.

HISTORY OF IDACENTRE’S
:
With the intervention of the Bombay High Court, the Municipal Corporation handed over erstwhile Dog pound
at Deonar to IDA on 22nd December 1999. After refurbishing the place, IDA started the centre from 1st
February 2000, to spay / neuter street animals and render treatment to ill / injured ones.
The twin city of Mumbai viz. Navi Mumbai did not have a neutering center for dogs for several years. Navi
Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) handed over their erstwhile Dog Pound to IDA to start the spay /
neuter and render treatment for street animals in Navi Mumbai. Thus started our second centre from 26th July
2006.
Being an eco-sensitive zone, vehicles are not permitted on the hill station of Matheran, hence weak,
emaciated horses are used to ferry people and cargo up and down the hill. While more than 600 horses are
working in this region, there is not a single veterinarian or an animal center in the region. We therefore started
this centre to help these animals Now IDA staff also holds camps in nearby towns of Kalyan and Titwala,
where horses are used to ferry passengers. Sadly, due to lack of funds, this vital service had to be stopped in
end of April, 2011
IDA has three big ambulances to bring animals for treatment / spay / neuter program, One of them has a
hydraulic lift to pick up large animals like cattle, horses, etc. They ply in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai

SPONSER A PET:
Some pets/ animals has to stay in the centre who cannot be adopted or released due to their illness, IDA
offers sponsership programmes for such animals and pets through which an individual can offer a helping
hand.

VACCINATIONS:
IDA hold up a lot of vaccinations drives across the state of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai for needy animals and
also for the ones kept in at their various centres in Mumbai.
AWARNESS PROGRMMES:
Awareness about animal issues and environment is spreading with youngsters watching channels like Animal
Planet, National Geographic and Discovery. They are becoming aware of the place of animals in our lives and
the need to give them due respect. IDA India hopes to tap the potential of these youngsters for welfare of
animals, and has formed the 'Compassionate Children's Club' IDA India also regularly organized the animal
welfare and awareness programs in schools, collages, and socials groups which is playing very effective role
in bringing wider vision for animal issues among the adult and children.

PUPPY PEN HAS ALL KINDS OF PUPS, RESCUED, NEW BORN, ABONDENED etc, THEY ARE
FREQUENTLY PROVIDED WITH REQUIRED MEDICINES AND VACCINATIONS. SOMETIMES THESE
PETS GETS ADOPTED OR LEFT BACK AGAIN IN THE SAME RESIDENTIAL AREA THEY BELONG TO.
KIN INFECTION WARD:
ANIMALS SUFFERING FROM VARIOUS SKIN AILMENTS ARE KEPT IN THIS WARD, AND GIVEN
TREATMENT ACCORDING TO THE INFECTION THEY ARE SUFERING FROM.

BLIND WARD:
VARIOUS KINDS OF BLIND DOGS ARE KEPT IN THIS WARD AND ARE USUALLY PERMANENT
RESIDENTS IN THE FOUNDATION; THEY SEEM TO BE QUITE COMFORTABLE HERE AS THEY ARE
KNOWNTO THE PREMISES AND ARE VERY MUCH USED TO MOVING AROUND IN THE AREA WHCH
IS FAMILIAR TO THEM.
CAT SICK WARD:
AS THE NAME SUGGESTS, SICK CATS ARE KEPT IN THE WARD WHERE THEY HAVE THEIR OWN
DENS / HOUSES TO MOVE AROUND, SOME OLD, SOME YOUNG CATS ARE KEPT TOGETHER TO
MAKE THEM FEEL AT HOME AND ARE CURRED ACCORDING TO THEIR AILMENTS, MOST OF THEM
ARE HAVING SOME EYE PROBLEMS, SOME ARE BLIND, WHERE SOME ARE OLD ENOUGH TO LAY
BACK AND REST.

CATS WHICH ARE ABONDONED OR ARE RESCUED FROM VARIOUS PLACES ARE TREATED AND
KEPT IN THIS WARD, THE WARD IS NICELY KEPT WITH TOYS, BEDS, DAILY FOOD & WATER. NO
DOUBT IT IS THEIR “HOME SWEET HOME” AT IDA.

ANY DOG OR CAT FOR TIME BEING IN KEPT IN THIS WARD UNTILL THEIR THEY ARE SHIFTED TO

As a part of volunteering and promotion activity of the foundation, IDA prepares various merchandise like T-
