COPA (Controlling Profitability Analysis) is an SAP module used to analyze profitability across different business dimensions. There are two main types of COPA - account based which flows data from the general ledger, and costing based which flows data from custom value fields mapped to sales and materials management. Costing based COPA is generally recommended except for some industries like retail due to smaller data volumes. COPA characteristics and value fields are used to define business measurements like quantities and discounts, and are updated across all clients. Company Code: Legal reporting and assigned to controlling area
Controlling Area: Mgmt Acct and assigned to Operating concern.
Profit Center: Profit Analysis by areas of resp. within a Controlling Area.
Plant:Assigned to Company code is logistic entity for stock movements.
Sales Org: Assigned to Company Code is sales entity for recording sales
transaction.
COPA Characteristics are cross client. and start with WW*..will up update in all
clients...same with values...and they start with VV*...basically they are
measurements like qty...discounts...etc...
SD int. is done thru conditions records assignment of value fileds
CO-PA Assign of SD Conditions to value fields.
