This ad features a nun with a peg on her nose to block the scent of Lynx body spray. It implies that wearing Lynx will attract women and lead to sex, which is inappropriate given nuns' vow of celibacy. The ad humiliates nuns and promotes harmful stereotypes.
2. This ad is for the product ‘Lynx’
which is a males body spray. The
image shows a nun with a peg on
her nose basically so she can’t smell
the lynx. As other ad’s have implied
that lynx attracts women. The ad is
discriminating nuns and there
believes as nuns do not have sex the
ad is been very forward suggesting
that if you wear lynx women will
want to have sex with you. This ad is
also giving off that nun’s may be a
bad thing? As lynx is very popular
males will see the ad and laugh. The
ad is basically humiliating nuns.
3. I think that this ad is particularly
controversial as it creates a negative
picture of men and women. It gives
off the image that all men are
arrogant and believe wives are for
cooking and describes women as
been there just for cooking. This
would cause conflict especially
these days as you get men who now
stay at home and the women go out
to work and this would discriminate
those families who do work this
way. Not all men have this mind set
that women should do the cooking
but it is giving a bad name for all of
the male species. I don’t think that
it would of caused that much
disruption when it was created as
those days that is what
happened, men worked while
women stayed at home but as
things are changing this would
definitely cause conflict.
4. This ad is for a fashion line, the image shows two model’s modelling the clothing. But
at the same time they are snorting some form of drug. This is disturbing as anyone
who likes the clothing may think ‘oh its ok to do drugs’ its giving a positive image of
drugs as these models will be looked up to by teenage girls. No parent would want
there children seeing this. It is especially glamourizing drugs, making them look good
to the public. They are also snorting the drug off the t-shirt, this is strongly linking
both fashion and drugs together and would give a bad image on fashion models
suggesting all fashion models do this.
