Conn's syndrome is a disease that affects the adrenal glands, causing excess production of the hormone aldosterone, which regulates sodium and potassium levels in the kidneys. It is named after endocrinologist Jerome Conn, who first described the condition at the University of Michigan in 1955 as an aldosterone-producing adenoma of the adrenal glands. Conn's syndrome most commonly affects people between the ages of 30 and 60.
