Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary vocal and motor tics. Common tics include eye blinking, throat clearing, and limb or head movements. TS is diagnosed when both motor and vocal tics are present for at least one year. While sometimes inherited, the exact causes are unknown. Treatment may include medications and behavioral therapies to help manage tics. Educators are encouraged to accommodate students with TS by allowing for movement breaks, testing in separate rooms, and teaching acceptance to reduce stigma. Understanding and support from family, teachers, and peers can help those with TS lead productive lives.

The document describes a Science Debate format for engaging citizens in discussions about controversial science and technology topics. Science Debates bring together scientific experts, political representatives, non-governmental organizations, and citizens to discuss issues and find solutions. They aim to ensure public input shapes decisions, not just informs them. An example debate topic described is deforestation in the Amazon and its impact on endangered species. Stakeholders present arguments on both sides, such as government officials noting monitoring efforts while scientists describe species loss. The document advocates applying the format to topics in Brazil, like cable cars in Rio favelas, and offers collaboration to help develop Science Debates.

This document summarizes a report on farmer suicides in India. It notes that over 250,000 Indian farmers have committed suicide since 1995 due to the country's agrarian crisis. In 2009 alone, the number was 17,638 farmers, which is one every 30 minutes. The suicides are disproportionately from regions and communities involved in cash crop cultivation like cotton. The report focuses on the human rights implications of the crisis and failures of the Indian government to adequately address its underlying causes and provide support and relief to affected farmers and families. It provides recommendations for actions needed to respect, protect and fulfill farmers' human rights.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
