Theoretical Investigation of Hetero–Diels–Alder Functionalizations on SWCNT a...drboon
Two–layered ONIOM method at the ONIOM(B3LYP/6–31G(d,p):AM1) theoretical level was applied to investigate the hetero Diels-Alder reaction functionalization of various nitrosoalkenes (NAs) and thionitrosoalkenes (TNAs) onto side–wall (5,5) armchair SWCNT. The results indicated that SWCNT can be functionalized with NAs and TNAs. The energy barriers of TNAs funtionalized SWCNT were lower than those of NAs. This implied that TNAs are easier to react with SWCNT than those of NAs. In addition, electronic properties and density of states of SWCNT were modified by the Diels-Alder functionalizations of NAs and TNAs.

SS 304L, an austenitic Chromium-Nickel stainless steel offering the optimum combination of corrosion resistance, strength and ductility, is favorable for many mechanical components. The low carbon content reduces susceptibility to carbide precipitation during welding. In case of single pass welding of thinner section of this alloy, pulsed current micro plasma arc welding was found beneficial due to its advantages over the conventional continuous current process. The paper focuses on developing mathematical models to predict grain size and hardness of pulsed current micro plasma arc welded SS304L joints. Four factors, five level, central composite rotatable design matrix is used to optimize the number of experiments. The mathematical models have been developed by response surface method. The adequacy of the models is checked by ANOVA technique. By using the developed mathematical models, grain size and hardness of the joints can be predicted with 99% confidence level. Contour plots are drawn to study the interaction effect of pulsed current micro plasma arc welding parameters on fusion zone grain size and hardness of SS304L steel.

Career Road Strategy Model, Complementary of Competency Models and Strategic ...drboon
Strategic Job Analysis (SJA) and Competency Models (CM) both have the potential to fill an important void in Career Road Planning (CRP). This paper deals with a strategic model of career road planning to magnify organization and employee's situations in career road guiding complying with the strategic goals of the organization. To approve this meaning, It is assumed that career road planning is a project in organization's human resource management plan. It is then concluded through the investigation of different aspects of job analyzing and competency models that these methods are not able to present a complete solution in directing of career in road of organization's strategic goals because these approaches omit employee's role as a stakeholder in analysis and selection of career road. This paper presents a model with regard to two aspects: amount of career planning independency from organization's goal and stakeholder (organization and employee) roles to guide the strategic career road planning. Based on this analysis, it is inferred that the degree of employee’s independence is an important parameter in the career planning project’s environment that can be used to explain different strategies in career road. We suggest four distinct types of career planning strategies: obedient servant, independent innovator, flexible moderator and strong leader making job analyzing more clearly than previous approaches.
Integration of Urban Design and Industrial Estate Planning, a Case Study: Med...drboon
There is no clear sense of urban design direction and even though considerable progress has been made in social and economic aspects, the quality of physical urban environment is still relatively low. While there are numerous studies commenting on urban design elements in city centre, little was written on the design elements of industrial areas. This paper will try to compare two industrial estates (KIM I and KIM II) in Medan, Indonesia as a case study. The aim is to have some assessment of how some urban design elements are being applied in both areas. To do this, urban design elements from Lynch (path, edge, district, node and landmark) and design guidelines from The Ministry of Industry were combined and used for analysis. From the comparison, KIM I development was more ad hoc and KIM II has more complete facilities and more friendly. Urban development in these cases continues to face the issues of accommodating economic development with a more balanced approach which includes promoting environmental sustainability, reconciling old and new development as well as matching development plans with economic expansion.
Sustainable Design and Function of Architectural Space and its Composition of...drboon
Function should always be regarded as the most important subject before the consideration of form and space be fulfilled. The design reaches its level of aesthetic when it is able to integrate all the required relationships in the design process with clear objectives. This can be seen clearly in the case of mud clay architecture in Hadhramout region, Yemen. The issue of material durability, traditional construction techniques, beauty, and affordability becomes the crucial factors that will be able to fulfill the user’s level of satisfaction, comfort, financial, and spiritual needs. Based on the architectural knowledge gained over the years, the Hadhrami local master builders have acquired brilliant skills and expertise to shape the regional environment and architectural heritage. They always consider ‘functional spaces’ before the buildings and houses are erected. This study investigates the use of mud clay architecture in relation to the design of the building function with its specific architectural form and space in Wadi Hadhramout. It focuses on the residential and religious buildings.

Hunting New Public Spaces in New Urban Area: A Case Study in Semarang City, I...drboon
The public space is unequivocally important for new urban planning strategies. The public space fulfills an important role in increasing the 'social cohesion' in society. The explanation of the exact significance of the public space remains an implicit one. This paper is a report of an intensive quest to establish the preconditions for the design of new public spaces at new urban area in Semarang city, Indonesia. The basic of analysis of the cultural geography of the network city finds something new about a new perspective of cultural exchange as a typical urban quality. The result of this paper based on investigation of the new collective spaces of the urban field offers and insight into the factors that facilitate the development of new public domain. The conclusion of this study shows that one of the reasons for the lack of a vision as regards the quality of the public space lies in the fact that important 'players' such as administrators, designers and developers to a large degree think along the same lines.
A Novel Finite Element Model for Annulus Fibrosus Tissue Engineering Using Ho...drboon
In this work, a novel finite element model using the mechanical homogenization techniques of the human annulus fibrosus (AF) is proposed to accurately predict relevant moduli of the AF lamella for tissue engineering application. A general formulation for AF homogenization was laid out with appropriate boundary conditions. The geometry of the fibre and matrix were laid out in such a way as to properly mimic the native annulus fibrosus tissue’s various, location-dependent geometrical and histological states. The mechanical properties of the annulus fibrosus calculated with this model were then compared with the results obtained from the literature for native tissue. Circumferential, axial, radial, and shear moduli were all in agreement with the values found in literature. This study helps to better understand the anisotropic nature of the annulus fibrosus tissue, and possibly could be used to predict the structure-function relationship of a tissue-engineered AF.
