2. Stats. About Alcohol… By the time kids are high school seniors 80% have used alcohol and 62% have been drunk, this scares me because it seem that the age of kids trying there first sip of alcohol gets younger and younger. In the U.S. roughly 50,000 cases of alcohol poisoning are reported each year, and approximately once every week, someone dies from this preventable condition.
3. STATS. ABOUT Tobacco… Of current smokers in the U.S., 1,273,000 have emphysema from smoking. Of current smokers in the U.S. 46,000 have lung cancer from smoking. Ammonia is in tobacco smoke. (That is just crazy that people put that in their mouth!) In the U.S. 3,400 people die each year from secondhand smoke-related lung cancer, people don’t even have to smoke and they still get hurt by others that are doing it, that is so sad. Tobacco kills more American than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, murders, suicides, drugs and fires combined.
