Human Resources Management is a management
function which involved :
 Procurement of Human Resources
 Training and Development
 Motivation and Reward
 Create sence of being a part of the management
 Maintenance of better Human relations
 Optimize staff contribution
Definition of HRM
Human Resource Management is the planning
,organising , directing and controlling of the
procurement , development, compensation ,
integration, maintenance, and separation of
Human Resources to the end that individual
organisational and social objectives are
accomplished.

CONCEPTS OF HRM
HRM is defined as the practices, policies and systems that
influence employees behaviour, attitudes, performance.
People Management:- policies, practice and system that
influence work force.
Human Capital Management:- Skills, Education, Capacity
and attributes of labour .
Personnel Management:- Compliance, Administrative
and Record keeping.
Functions of HRM
The functions performed by HRM are classified into
 Managerial Function
 Operative Function
Managerial Function
Planning:-In this function the number and type of
employees accomplish organisational goal in
determined. " What to do & How to do".
Organising:- Systematic arrangement of activities (or) it
refers to the way in which the work of a group of people
is arranged and distributed among two members.
Directing:-It deals with motivation and leadership
through communication and coordination.It is activating
employees at different levels.
Controlling:- It means to check the errors and to take
the corrective.
Operative Function
Procurement:- The first operative function of
personnel management is procurement. It is
concerned with procuring & employing people who
possess necessary skills, knowledge and aptitude.
Development:- Development of personnel
isnecessary to increase employees skills in doing their
jobs and in satisfying their growth need.
Compensation :-The determination of adequet and
equitable of the employees in organisation.
Integration :- It based on team , teamwork
,decipline,trade union and Industrial relation.
Maintenance:-working condition and welfare
